Niki Prasad (captain, India Women U19): We would like to see the game being longer but looking at the conditions, we have done well to wrap the game early. We want to continue the same again Sri Lanka, bowling and batting well. Vaishnavi did well today, picking up a hattrick and five wickets was very special
Nur Dania Syuhada (captain, Malaysia Women U19): It is an opportunity for us to play with a strong team. We need to comeback stronger and focus on the next game
Time for the post-match presentation!
Vaishnavi Sharma (Player of the Match, 5/5 in 4 overs): My plan was simple - bowling according to the batter and the conditions. And of course, attacking the stumps was the key. When I bowled for the first time, I kept dreaming about it! And then, to get a hat-trick and five wickets in the innings, well, I can't ask for more! My parents should be proud of me, after what they have done for me! I do hope to meet Radha di one day.
4:08 pm local time, 1:38 pm IST: India Women U19 beat Malaysia Women U19 by 10 wickets
India Women U19: 32/0 in 2.5 overs
G Trisha: 27(12b)* | G Kamalini: 4(5b)
What a chase from the girls in Blue. They walked out in the middle with a clear intention to annihilate the Malay bowling on offer before rain came and they have done it in some style. Malaysia Women U19 are in a team huddle, it was a thrashing of some sort but these hard lessons will shape a stronger Malaysia Women's Cricket Team in the future.
India only needed its openers to do the job. They managed three runs in the first over, then added 29 runs in the next 11 deliveries they faced. G Kamalini took a backseat in this contest, but Gongadi Trisha connected the ball sweetly and scored the target, ending the chase with a cracking boundary.
2.5 Suabika Manivannan to Gongadi Trisha, INDIA WOMEN UNDER 19s REGISTER THEIR SECOND WIN! Full on leg-and-middle. Trisha prodded slightly forward and pumped it over mid-on for a the winning boundary!
2.4 Suabika Manivannan to Kamalini, Oh! Full and swinging back in on the pads. Kamalini tried to work it over mid-wicket on the charge. But she missed and they ended up getting a leg-bye to the left of the keeper.
2.3 Suabika Manivannan to Gongadi Trisha, full on off-stump and just outside off. Drilled down to wide long-off off the front foot for a single.
2.2 Suabika Manivannan to Gongadi Trisha, FOUR RUNS! Back of a length on leg-stump. Flicked off the hip to the left of short fine-leg and right of square-leg for a boundary!
