Thanks a lot for joining us- Mohul Bhowmick and Pragadeesh- for this exciting game of cricket from the DY Patil Stadium here in Navi Mumbai. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did bringing it to you. Until next time, take care and ciao!
Alyssa Healy, Australia captain and Player of the Series: I don't know if I deserve this award. Phoebe Litchfield did extremely well for us all series. My job was to get us off to a good start, and thankfully, it paid off. In the last two games, things worked out really well for us, and I am happy. I think it's the first time in a while that we have only used five bowlers in a T20 game. We have nine bowling options, you know. The girls make it very easy for me. I am still growing into the job. We will be back home for a while and then I will come back for the WPL and then later for the IPL as well, I think.
Annabel Sutherland, Player of the Match: It was nice to get a complete performance today. I am very pleased with the way things turned out. We didn't play as well in the first game as we would have liked to, and thankfully, things fell into place in this game. We tried to stay ahead of the game, and this worked well today. I am happy with the way the girls performed.
Harmanpreet Kaur, India captain: In the last month we played better cricket but they played white ball cricket better than us. We have time to analyse what's going wrong in the red-ball cricket but in the white-ball cricket things happen too fast and we have to analyse quickly. Fielding set the tone for us in the first T20 and in the last two matches, it didn't go in our way. We will work on our fitness as we have enough time to work on. We give fight to them and they know that we aren't going to give them anything easy. They have experienced players and they do it when needed, this is something we can learn from them
Beth Mooney: Would've been nice to chase this a bit earlier because things got tight in the end. We have one eye on the world cup in Bangladesh and we want to get better as a whole unit. Hopefully, we get going against South Africa as well. The conditions batting first here aren't favourable, lucky the coin fell in our way. Few girls have an early flight in the morning and a few would go late, so let's see how the celebration goes
Australia Women beat India Women by 7 wickets and take the T20I series 2-1!
Although they got off to a rather slow start, Australia Women were able to accelerate thanks to Alyssa Healy's whirlwind innings. Beth Mooney batted really well to stay till the end and made sure that she took her side over the line. Healy's knock was crucial for Australia, and she managed to keep her side together.
A few poor decisions from India captain Harmanpreet Kaur allowed Australia to break free from situations they should have been sitting back and focusing upon. Renuka Thakur was given a third over in the powerplay and the young Shreyanka Patil too was introduced when the fielding restrictions were still in place.
Healy made good use of these errors made by India and capitalised upon them. Australia cruised to a rather comfortable win in the end, and this allowed them to take the series 2-1, and in turn end up being the winners of the series, since they won the ODI and T20I series. India had only won the lone Test in this series.
Alyssa Healy, who scored a fine half-century in her 150th game for Australia in WT20Is, will be extremely proud of her girls and can comfortably take the flight back home pleased with the way the tour went for her. There were several impressive performances from the Aussies throughout this series, and they will be very pleased with going home with this series under their belt.
And that will be that- Mooney bags her fifty and the winning runs for Australia!
18.4 Pooja Vastrakar to Beth Mooney, FOUR MORE! Australia win the series 2-1. It's a fighting half-century from Mooney and she steers her side home. Fuller delivery angling in, Mooney steps away, opens the blade and squeezes this in the gap behind square to finish things off in style
All Mooney had to do there was make contact, and she got into an outstanding position to do so!
18.3 Pooja Vastrakar to Beth Mooney, FOUR! Mooney shuffles across to play the scoop but doesn't get the required length. She makes good adjustment at the last second to ramp this over short third for a boundary
