What do you get when you cross some incredible batting with a clinical performance on the field? You may have your own answers but I'd go with the dominance that India showed over Pakistan in this all-important Commonwealth Games fixture.

It was a Smriti Mandhana show in the end. She came out there in quite the mood, taking on every bowler to come up against her after what can only be described as a quiet first over. 8 fours and 3 stunning sixes later, the Indian vice-captain has taken her team home with relative ease. The result itself was never in doubt, of course. It was just a question of when and not if.

Full credit to Shafali Verma and S Meghana, of course, who ably supported the swashbuckling opener. That said, none of this would have been possible if not for a wonderful performance on the field by the Indians. Special mention, of course, to Sneh Rana, whose return to the side seems to have rejuvenated the team as well. Radha Yadav too did well to come back strong after a difficult game against the Aussies.

All in all, a good all-round effort from Team India who live to fight another day. The win also, albeit temporarily, takes India to top spot in the group. Pakistan's hopes, however, rest on a Barbados win later tonight. An Australian win will confirm their exit from the Games.

All in a day's work then. India win by 8 wickets.
