Tom Latham (New Zealand captain): Winning the toss and bowling upfront was pretty crucial. Jacob Duffy and Matt Henry set the tone for us with the new ball. Very happy to have restricted them to only 216. Finn Allen played positive cricket, it was a shaky start but we played really well to put the pressure back on them. Michael showed good composure at a position he is not used to and has performed really so far. Hopefully he continues doing so for us in times to come

Andrew Balbarnie (Ireland captain): When the ball was nipping for 20 overs on the bounce, our batter tried to put runs on the board but in the end, it wasn't enough for them. We could have had a few guys forging a good partnership with George Dockrell down the order and could have scored 230-240 on the board. He is a huge guy and hits it pretty long. Andy McBrine at the top of the order also batted well. We weren't a hundred per cent on the field and that's why we are disappointed after losing this game

Michael Bracewell has been adjudged the Player of the Match for his splendid all-round performance, 2-26 with the ball and then a crucial 42 with the bat!

Michael Bracewell: We got off to a great start, Henry set the tone with three maidens in a row as a bowling unit and Jacob was outstanding at the start. McBrine and Tector have played well the other day, fortunately enough it was a different wicket and swung for us a bit more. I think we're able to extract some turn as well as a spin bowling unit. Really pleased to see the game through, it's one of those days, you're always in a chance as a bowling side.

A good win for New Zealand as they have their hands over the elusive trophy. This win seemed very unlikely if you tuned in earlier in this innings as New Zealand lost two wickets for nought with Martin Guptill and Will Young being dismissed for first-ball ducks. Post that, it was Finn Allen and Tom Latham who took the responsibility for scoring the bulk of the runs as the duo put together 101 runs for the third wicket.

Finn Allen scored his first ODI half-century but was dismissed soon. Henry Nicholls stayed at the crease for a while but was done by an excellent run-out from Curtis Campher who was stationed at deep backward square leg. Glenn Phillips was looking to go hell for leather before he chopped it back onto his stumps and brought about a premature end to his innings. Latham got his 50 and was dismissed soon after. When all seemed far away, Michael Bracewell played an excellent knock of 42 runs and took his team over the line.

New Zealand bowlers tried hard, but couldn't get much out of the surface like their Kiwi counterparts. Simi Singh and Mark Adair led the bowling charts as they picked up two wickets, with Adair shaking the Kiwi batting lineup by dismissing their number 1 and 3 off consecutive deliveries. Curtis Campher and Craig Young chipped in with a wicket each, while the latter also contributed a run-out to account for the wicket of Henry Nicholls.

With this win, New Zealand has won 10 points and has registered 80 points in the ICC CWC Super League Table. Let's now go down to the presentation ceremony to see what the captains and the Play of the match has to say

Good length, tossed up on the stumps, Bracewell shimmies down the track and another clean hit from him as he PUMMELS it way over long-on for a maximum.

New Zealand need 4 runs to win in 12 overs. Once again, it is Bracewell who is at the crease and will be taking his side over the line. Good bowling from Ireland who will hold their heads high after this performance but will be disappointed not taking their chances in this game.
