Andy Balbirnie (Player of the Match, 112 runs off 138 balls): "We were itching to go at the start of the day! We had a couple of injuries, but we were pretty good today. Paul Stirling getting to 10000 international runs is just so special! He still has some good years ahead of him. My role is to try and bat deep. Some days it won't come off, but today it did. I did think that we kept a little out there, but our bowlers made up for it big time! The challenge for us now will be to win the series with two games remaining. The confidence will be massive! We'll dust ourselves off tomorrow and go again on Friday."

Paul Stirling [Ireland captain]: "We didn't put a foot wrong today, good start and as we spoke about, absolutely delighted and won comfortably in the end. Debutants have come in and shown that we have a good bunch of guys waiting in the wing too ready to take on. I didn't know, these days with all the media, but never dreamt of achieving this, but nice to do this and a special achievement. It was a typical Balbirnie innings, built the innings and allowed the other batters to express freely. 300 was chaseable, but McCarthy and Mayes were brilliant in the powerplay, absolutely delighted. We will look to repeat this in the next couple of days, hopefully the result follows."

Shai Hope [West Indies captain]: "It's key for us, we need to pick up wickets with the new ball. And also with the bat, we need to make powerplay count. We didn't strike with the new ball and that is something we need to work on. Ireland played well, we needed to show bit more intent, allowed their bowlers to bowl at us, rest was history. We just need to set the tone from the start, with a decent powerplay and see how it goes to take it to the backend. The series is not over yet, we will take the blow but we expect Ireland come back hard at us."

This is the first time that Ireland have managed to set a total against the West Indies and won! And what an impressive victory this is! We were wondering if they have enough on the board at the halfway stage, they have proved that it was more than enough! It is also the first victory for Ireland against the Men in Maroon in Ireland.

It all started with the run out of Evin Lewis, who was unfortunate to run into the bowler. But since then, it was all Ireland! The bowling was top class, and the batting wilted under the pressure.

Every batter played a shot too many, failed to assess the conditions and fell prey. Justin Greaves played a quickfire knock of 35, but ended up nicking off to the keeper. It took a 98-run 7th wicket stand between newly appointed West Indies Test skipper Roston Chase and Matthew Forde to give the visitors some hope.

But just when one thought it was getting messy, George Dockrell came on and prized out the big wicket of Chase by castling him! After that, it was a procession till the final wicket fell in the form of Forde.

Two debutants - Thomas Mayes and Liam McCarthy - were extremely good with their lengths! Barry McCarthy and Josh Little lived up to their expectations. Despite a few blips in the field, Ireland managed to pull off a magnificent win to take the lead in the series!

Matthew Forde has been dismissed for 38 runs off 48 balls

34.1 Barry McCarthy to Matthew Forde, OUT! STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Ireland go 1-0 up in the series! McCarthy finishes up with a four-for and turned out to be a clinical win this for the hosts. Short into the batter, Forde went for the pull but top edged it straight up. Little settles under it at mid-on and clings on to seal the game.

It should not take long for Ireland to wrap this up. Forde needs to wield his willow now and look for some runs. Maybe, he should set himself a target of getting to fifty!
