Match abandoned without a ball bowled!
Just the kind of news we didn’t want to hear to kick off the series. What began with a wet outfield was only made worse by persistent drizzle over the past hour, leaving no window for play in the opening T20I.
All eyes now turn to the skies, hoping for clearer conditions tomorrow so that the second T20I can proceed without interruptions. West Indies, in particular, were eager to get some valuable game time under their belt, build rhythm, and bounce back to winning ways — but for now, their wait extends a little longer.
4:00 PM local (8:30 PM IST): We have some bad news coming in. The game has been abandoned due to rain! The rain played spoilsport and that means we have to wait for the action on Saturday for the second game of the series.
3:30 PM local (8 PM IST): There's nothing new to report. There are a few umbrellas out in the middle as the groundstaffs taking a look at the situation. It continues to drizzle though and the waiting game continues.
