That's it from here for game 1 of today from the BPL. We have another game coming up soon. Keep following Sportskeeda for that one. For now it's bye bye.
Yasir Ali | Khulna captain: A sigh of relief. It was a much-needed win for us and we can now take it from here. When seniors like Wahab does well then it makes it easier for the others. Tamim played really well and he guided Joy.
Wahab Riaz | Player of the Match: The wicket was little bit slow but we had to bowl according to our plans. Also, bowling wicket to wicket helps on such surfaces. We lost the first three games but we have some momentum now and it is all about peaking at the right time.
Shoaib Malik | Rangpur captain: Of course not enough runs on the board. When you are playing on a slow track the key is to rotate strike and we didn't do that. Credit to Tamim, he knew someone had to bat through on this surface and he did that for them. We surely will come back.
Khulna Tigers won by 9 wickets Tamim Iqbal 60(47) | Mahedi Hasan 38(34) Wahaz Riaz 4-14 | Azamatullah Omarzai 1-26(3.2)
Khulna end their three-match losing run and register their first points of this season with a thumping win.
Chasing a low total of 130, Tamim and Munim Shahriar got off to a fast start and even though the latter fell, Mahmudul Hasan Joy joined Tamim and finished it off.
Khulna even had the liberty to stretch the chase till the 19th over as they did not want to finish it early despite having the chance to do so.
Rangpur did not have the total to defend and despite a lot of international bowlers, they lacked ammunition to dislodge the batters.
Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
18.2 Azmatullah Omarzai to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, SIX! A LUSTY BLOW TO FINISH THINGS! Bangs it short but it's not high enough to plague Joy as he gets on top of the bounce and clobbers it over deep mid-wicket
18.1 Azmatullah Omarzai to Tamim Iqbal, short of a length angling away, Tamim punches it to sweeper cover and gets a single
17.6 Haris Rauf to Tamim Iqbal, yorker length delivery on middle stump, Tamim bends low and flicks it to deep square leg for a single
17.5 Haris Rauf to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, another short delivery rushing the batter. Joy mistimes his pull as he gets a top edge but lands safely towards long-on. One run
17.4 Haris Rauf to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, dug it short again, Joy gives room and punches it to short extra cover
