This brings us to the end of our coverage for this BPL clash. Till the next time, this is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) bidding adieu. Goodnight!
Nurul Hasan (Rangpur Riders captain): I think after losing two wickets, Shakib bhai continued going after the shots and was supported well. If you play as a team, there is very good chance of winning. I thinks it a total team game
Imran Tahir: Lot of hard work has been done behind the scenes. It is a professional set up. I am pleased that I have got the five wicket haul. Look I used to bowl three hours a day but I had a practice in me where I don't need to practice too hard. As you get older, you have to wait for your opportunities. The Ronaldo celebration is for my son.
Anamul Haque Bijoy: Teamwise we didn't play well in the last four games. We couldn't execute our plans. We started with four wins and will like to finish with four wins. There is skill at the top order. Alex Hales and Evin Lewis are top players. I will always want these two to continue opening for us. Team wise we didn't execute our plans but take nothing away from Luke Wood who did a tremendous job. We have to click in all three departments of the game.
Rangpur Riders won by 78 runs
Shakib Al Hasan 69(31) | Imran Tahir 5/26(4) Alex Hales 60(33) | Luke Wood 3/19(4)
The target of 220 was always going to be a massive one for the Khulna Tigers and it worked out exactly in that fashion. Despite a valiant knock from Alex Hales, none of the other batters could make an impact as the Tigers kept losing wickets on a consistent basis. Barring Hales' knock of 60 off 33 deliveries, Luke Wood and Nasum Ahmed struck some big shots to get them a bit closer to the target.
Evin Lewis was dismissed early by Shakib Al Hasan as he started the slide. Anamul Haque and Afif Hossain departed in quick intervals as the Tigers seemed to be on the mat. Hales continued the good work for as he smashed 7 fours and 3 sixes during his knock of 60 which came in 33 deliveries. After the departure of Hales, it was a procession of sorts and the Tigers had resigned to the fact. In the end they were bowled out for 141 in the penultimate over.
18.2 Shakib Al Hasan to Nahid Rana, WICKET! That's game set and match for the Rangpur Riders as they win by 78 runs. Nahid comes down the track and blindly swings across the, perhaps there was a faint outside edge which has been safely pouched by Nurul Hasan behind the stumps.
18.1 Shakib Al Hasan to Nahid Rana, slowish on a good-length outside off, Nahid goes swiping across the line, doesn't make any contact.
Shakib Al Hasan is back into the attack.
