Pitch Report
It's the third match in Srinagar. We're using this pitch after a day, ground staff have done an excellent job. It's been really tough going for the batters, lack of bounce and need to adjust to the conditions. There's going to be variable bounce, seamers need to hit the right areas, for spinners need to get the lines and length, crucial. Teams winning the toss, will like to bowl first.

So that brings the league stage of LLC 2024 to a conclusion. Kalinga Suryas Odisha have registered a mammoth win and from being a loss away to being knocked out will now be playing the Qualifier 1 against the Southern Superstars at 3 PM tomorrow. They have the momentum on their side and for me they are the team to beat now. From here, it is time for us (Sourabh and Pradeep) to take your leave. But make sure you join us back tomorrow for the Qualifier 1. Keep following Sportskeeda for all the sporting action from around the world, ta-ta!
Irfan Pathan (Kalinga Suryas Odisha captain): When we were at 60, we thought we were going after it (inside 15 overs). We had only lost just 1 wicket. Never (on whether hitting the winning runs will ever be bowling), even if I turn 50. Those runs were really important for my team, that hit was important. We have had a lot of challenges as a team, a few emergencies and players going back so that is why a lot of hugs (at the end). All three deliveries were peach (on Cooper's hat-trick). I have myself been a part of the legacy, taking a hat-trick in Test cricket but to do that in white ball, getting guys like Gayle, Kaif and Yashpal out is really special. He (Cooper) could not play all the games due to injury but the way he bowled today was brilliant. I'm going to go and do some stretching, have a meal, get some rest and get ready for tomorrow.
Kevon Cooper is the Legend of the Match! Here's what he has to say: After bowling two overs for 20 runs, the captain brought me back and I just wanted to go out there, do best for my team. I was saying to Yusuf, once I can hit the seam, I'll be in play and tried to keep it on the stumps. I came back to bowl well, the captain supported. I'm ok, just a niggle, hopefully fit and ready for tomorrow. Well played to the guys, good team effort with bat and ball.
Shikhar Dhawan (Gujarat Greats captain): The dew played a big factor, the second innings became much better to play on, it was a good match in the end. The hat-trick, four wickets you see hardly see these days. Congratulation to Cooper, that changed the course of the game, but finished well to get to 141. Gayle entertained the crowd, the people were amazing in the ground and I'm sure they had a great time tonight. Seeing all the stars, it's a great feeling and good to see the happiness here. I really enjoyed it, had great time. Wickets tested us, my skills tested too.
22:53 Local Time, IST:
Konark Suryas Odisha win by 7 wickets and qualify for the Qualifier 1
Dilshan Munaweera 47(38) | Kevon Cooper 4/25 (3) Chris Gayle 34(30) | Manan Sharma 1/28 (4)
Konark Suryas Odisha have absolutely steamrolled the Gujarat Giants and, more importantly, by doing so they have moved to the second place in the points table qualified for the Qualifier 1 which will take place tomorrow at the same venue.
It was as close as a finish that you would ever get for KSO to get into the Qualifier 1, they needed to finish the chase in 14.5 overs to qualify and when it was 14.5 in their chase they still needed 3 for victory. Skipper Irfan Pathan was at the crease and he smoked Prasanna for a six off the next ball and the calculators said that KSO will move to the second place in the table.
At the halfway stage, we though that 142 would prove to be much more challenging going by the way the pitch played in the first half. But it was anything but that in the run-chase as KSO absolutely cantered home. Dew had its part to play but it was sheer brilliance from the KSO batters assisted by some poor bowling from the Gujarat bowlers which enabled the game to be finished in 15 overs.
Openers Levi and Munaweera blazed off in the powerplay, they had the Qualifier 1 in their minds and they played accordingly. They went through the powerplay unseparated and scored at 9 an over. Levi fell in the next over to the leg spin of Prasanna but then out walked Kevin O'Brien. Munaweera was playing his shots since the start and O'Brien joined him and the pair absolutely ran away with the proceedings with some breathtaking shots.
Towards the end, Munaweera and then Yusuf Pathan fell in quick succession to Manan Sharma and Jerome Taylor respectively but it was skipper Irfan Pathan who ensured that KSO just made the cut to book a spot in the Qualifier 1 at the end of the match.

14.6 Seekkuge Prasanna to Irfan Pathan, SIX! GAME, SET AND MATCH! Konark through to playoffs and will play the qualifier 1! Flighted the length delivery on the stumps, Pathan hangs back and pumped it all the way over deep square-leg and finishes the game in style.
14.5 Seekkuge Prasanna to Irfan Pathan, too full on the off-stump, Pathan drilled it down the ground to long-on for no run.
WOW! One more blow and they will be through to the Qualifier 1, 3 needed off this ball
14.4 Seekkuge Prasanna to Irfan Pathan, SIX! Pathan wants to finish this in a hurry here. Short on the off-stump, Pathan hangs back and dispatched it way over deep square-leg for a maximum.
