As for the Gorakhpur Lions, they're at the bottom of the table having won only one game in the tournament so far. Their playoff hopes are all but over, sadly, and they have nothing but pride to play for in the coming days.

Yash Dayal (Lucknow Falcons): It feels great. It's a great opportunity for me to captain. Unfortunately, Priyam is injured and I got the opportunity. Priyam will take a game or two to return to the side. It was a shortened game, so we wanted to contain them as much as we could. Nadeem bowled brilliantly, as did Vikrant. The bowling performances helped the batters to chase the target down.

Nadeem is the Player of the Match. Let's hear what he has to say: Only wanted to bowl in the right areas and keep their batters to a minimal total. I wanted to cramp the batters for room and stick to the stumps. Not give them too much room to free their arms.

Dhruv Jurel (Gorakhpur Lions captain): Definitely we would have chased this had the rain come in late. I could have changed my plans but this is how it goes. It was a decent score. Our plan was to bowl in the right areas. Execution was secondary. We knew that it was a shortened game. We wanted to go at one go. All credit goes to Shaurya for the innings he played.

Game. Set. Match. That was a comprehensive display by the Lucknow Falcons, from start to finish. It was their bowlers who did most of the heavy lifting early on, restricting the Gorakhpur Lions to a minimal total in this rain-curtailed game. Nadeem and Vikrant were the heroes with the ball in the first innings, and it's the openers who sealed the deal with an emphatic stand.

The Falcons' openers started off watchfully in the first half of the run chase, ticking along without too many boundaries. With wickets in hand, Shaurya finally flicked a switch and took the attack to Dhruv Pratap Singh, scoring 20 runs off the fifth over. In a small run chase, that was enough for Lucknow to be in control from there on.

Harsh Tyagi played his part as the second fiddle, supporting Shaurya from the other end. Eventually, the two completed a mature and commanding run chase to gun down the target and get their side over the line, keeping their playoff hopes alive in this tournament. As for the Lions, they bow out without another loss and will not be making it to the playoffs this season.
