Thanks a lot for joining us- Mohul Bhowmick and Arya Sekhar Chakraborty- for this game in the TNPL. We hope you enjoyed Ajitesh Guruswamy's batting as well as M Poiyamozhi's last-ball heroics. Until next time, ciao!
Nellai Royal Kings beat Lyca Kovai Kings by 4 wickets!
Ajitesh Guruswamy 115 (60) | M Polyamozhi 3/29 Sai Sudharsan 90 (52) | Shahrukh Khan 1/12
Ajitesh Guruswamy, take a bow! After his skipper Arun Karthick departed for a golden duck, Nellai Royal Kings were written off but it was opener Ajitesh who managed to take his team over the line. He struck a fantastic century today- his first in the competition- and managed to lead his side to a famous win.
This victory will push the Nellai Royal Kings to the top of the league table whereas Lyca Kovai Kings will be disappointed with their showing. Although Ajitesh got out in the last over of this game, it was M Poiyamozhi who came out and struck the winning runs for his side. Add to the fact the three-wicket haul he got earlier in the day, and it is a game that he will not forget in a hurry.
Sai Sudharsan did extremely well for Kovai earlier in the day but missed out on his century by 10 precious runs. Nellai, despite not being the best side on show today, managed to win this game rather comfortably towards the end. All credit has to go to young Ajitesh, who battled single-handedly to take his team towards victory.
Polyamozhi has done it! A win for the ages for the Nellai Royal Kings- they go to the top of the standings now!
19.6 M Mohamed to M Poiyamozhi, that's the win for Nellai Royal Kings. Digs out the yorker a shade outside off towards the on side and scampers through for a single.
Polyamozhi, you BEAUTY! Just one run needed.
19.5 M Mohamed to M Poiyamozhi, SIX! What a blow from M Poiyamozhi. That was a slower short of a length delivery that has been slogged away well over the deep midwicket fence for a maximum.
M Poiyamozhi, RHB, is the new batter.
What an innings from Ajitesh here! Unfortunately, he has to walk back.
19.4 M Mohamed to R Mithun, slower delivery on a length outside off, Mithun swings across the line, gets beaten and scampers through for a bye single or has he? No he hasn't, Ajitesh falls well short of his crease in the end.
Ajitesh Guruswamy run out (J Suresh Kumar) 112 (60b 7x4 8x6)
19.3 M Mohamed to Ajitesh Guruswamy, Ajitesh slams this fuller-length around the long-on region for a single.
