It was a rather one sided contest in the end. Dega Nischal and Shubang Hegde did keep them in the game for a while with some exceptional strokeplay but however the target was way too much in the end. We have a double header tomorrow. Lots of cricketing action coming up tomorrow. You can switch tabs to follow the India vs Ireland game which is currently underway. For now, this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my good mate and co commentator Pradeep. Cheers!
K Gowtham: Like we wanted to change the trend and also wanted to back our batting. After winning the toss I didn't have any doubt in batting. See it's about one game at a time I keep telling the boys. Win or lose but you have to take the positives. We came here and executed whatever we could. We believe in youngsters. We have faith in them but it's jst about directing them to work towards that. Sankalp bowled brilliantly. Long way to go for him. It was long due for Siddharth. The plan to open with him really worked well.
Krishnamurthy Siddharth is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Plan was to utilize the powerplay and play through the middle overs. Surface was beautiful, really enjoy batting out here. We were looking to get to 170 1-80 and got bonus 10 runs.
What a convincing performance from the Mangaluru Dragons as they beat the Bengaluru Blasters quite convincingly by runs in the end. The Blasters were in the game for a while but they were always behind the eight ball despite some food batting from Dega Nischal and Shubang Hegde, the target proved to be a bit too much in the end.
Aditya Gopal and Sankalp were the pick of the bowlers for Mangaluru bagging 3 and 2 wickets each. The Blasters lost their openers Jeswath Acharya and Mayank Agarwal in quick succession which put them on the backfoot right from the word go. Dega Nischal struck some exceptional shots but kept losing his partners.
Pavan Deshpande also departed cheaply and it was Hegde who finally gave him some support they shared a 74-run partnership but the required rate kept climbing which pushed them on the back foot. Some attempted big shots eventually brought about the end of the partnership. Suraj Ahuja also played a quick cameo, smashing 2 fours and 3 sixes. In the end, it was just too much as the Dragons won by 23 runs.

19.6 Aditya Goyal to LR Kumar, THAT IS THAT! Bengaluru Blasters remain winless after four games and continue to languish at the bottom of the table. But, Mangalore Dragons are back to winning ways here! Short into the batter, Kumar pulled it to deep mid-wicket for one as Dragons thrash Blasters!
19.5 Aditya Goyal to Lochan Appanna, length delivery on the stumps, Appanna down on one knee to hoick, but gets no timing on it towards deep mid-wicket for a single.
19.4 Aditya Goyal to LR Kumar, pace off, short into the batter. Kumar looks to pull too early and misses, thuds on the pad and they pick up a leg-bye.
19.3 Aditya Goyal to LR Kumar, full on the off-stump, Kumar drilled it straight to mid-off and takes off. Fielder has a shy at the stumps and misses, would've been gone for all money and they scamper back for the brace.
19.2 Aditya Goyal to LR Kumar, full toss into the batter, Kumar backed away and pulled it awkwardly over mid-wicket for a couple. Is that above waist height?
