Well, two important points for Mumbai Indians on the board and despite their net run-rate not receiving a huge boost, they will still be pretty satisfied having taken a big leap towards qualification. The Titans, on the other hand, wouldn't press the panic button just yet and will write this off as an off-day for them. The playoffs race is heating up now and it'll be interesting to see which four teams make the final cut. And that, time will tell. Join us back tomorrow for Super Saturday as we have two absolutely cracking games lined up! Until next time then, this is the duo of Maanas Upadhyay and Pratyush Rohra bidding you adieu! Good night!
Suryakumar Yadav (Player of the Match): Can say that (one of his best T20 innings) because whenever I get runs I think that the team should win. More importantly because we batted first today. We decided to keep the tempo up. (On his six over third man) There was a lot of dew on the ground and one side of the ground was 75-80m. So I was prepared for two shots, scooping one and flicking one. So I was pleased that it came off. There's a lot of practice that goes behind that. What I practice and how I practice is very important - when I come out, I play just those shots.
Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians captain): Yeah it was interesting from our point of view - it was so important to win the game and get two points. That was from our perspective quite pleasing - to bat first and then come out there and defend it. We bowled well in the first fifteen overs and the conditions got tougher with the bowlers with the dew coming in. Just the confidence the guy (Suryakumar Yadav) has got. Before the tournament, we were deciding whether we should keep a left-right combination but Surya said no. That's the confidence that he brings and that rubs off on the guys batting with them. Every game he wants to start fresh and not worry about the previous game. Fingers crossed (about finishing in the top three).
Akash Madhwal: There was a bit of dew and we were only focusing on executing what we've practiced. Rohit bhaiya said to start off with the hard lengths and stay wicket-to-wicket because I was getting some movement. [SKY] He plays at a different level. Even bowling in the nets to him is a challenge. He's a top player. I've been waiting for three years for this opportunity. Now that I've got it, I'm enjoying it and am very happy with it. [Best bowling figures tonight] These won't be my best figures. I've been working hard, so hopefully the best is yet to come.
Hardik Pandya: Absolutely. It felt like he was the only one who turned up from our team. [Rashid] Full marks for the way he batted and bowled on this surface. We don't have to try too much. As a group, we weren't there in all departments today. We didn't have clear plans and didn't execute them. We gave 25 runs extra and it was only because of Rashid's innings that we didn't lose this by a bigger margin. [SKY] People have spoken about him. I feel he's one of the best batters around in T20 cricket and when he gets going, he's so difficult to stop. You have to execute your plans against him because if you don't, you can see what happens. He puts pressure on the bowlers. [Bowling plans] For me, it's important that the bowler is clear to execute the plans. After losing 5 wickets in the powerplay and then scoring 129 is great. Surya played an incredible knock and all credit to him but we lacked heart and execution tonight. We were quite flat intensity-wise and expected things to happen but everyone knows, at this level you can't wait and have to make things happen.
Mumbai Indians will be mighty disappointed with the margin of victory after having the Titans at 103/8 at one stage. This has been Rashid Khan's show tonight and he has single-handedly produced what might be the greatest all-round show perhaps ever put up in the history of T20s. What could've been a win in the seventies or eighties has been reduced to a win in the twenties by Rashid Khan alone. However, it will be the two points that will matter to Mumbai Indians the most as they jump over Rajasthan Royals to be placed second in the points table.
Speaking of the TItan's innings - it never really got going initially, with them losing wickets in clumps initially. It was Wriddhiman Saha who departed off an umpire's call but immediately so, Behrendorff nicked Hardik Pandya out and Madhwal returned to send Gill's off peg cartwheeling! With the top three back in the hut, it spelt trouble for GT.
Vijay Shankar played a few nice strikes before being deceived by Chawla while Kartikeya sent back Manohar for not too many. Miller played a swashbuckling cameo but it was cut short by Madhwal and Tewatia immediately followed him. Noor Ahmad jumped out to Kartikeya and paid the price by being stumped. However, that's when the destruction began. Rashid Khan and Joseph stitched together an 88-run partnership to avoid a humiliating defeat for GT and saved their net run-rate too. Rashid's innings consisted of 3 boundaries and 10 maximums, and the MI bowlers looked completely clueless against his onslaught. His innings almost eclipsed SKY's hundred earlier in the day and that's the kind of belligerent hitting we are talking about.
In the end, MI will be pleased with the two points but will surely rue the missed opportunity of getting a big win under their belt. Their net run-rate is still in the negative while GT's isn't affected too much by this loss. However, this win will do MI a world of good as they have managed to defend a target batting first, a feat that they have not been able to consistently do this season. There are a few areas for them to scrutinise but it has largely been their batting which has once again carried them to a massive victory as they take a big step towards qualifying for the playoffs.

19.6 Kumar Kartikeya to Rashid Khan, andddd, that's the end of the Rashid Khan show. Thank you for coming. Low full toss outside the off-stump, he carves this out to backward point on the bounce where Green does well to make sure to stop. Hats off to Rashid Khan, who was cramping and limping but not throwing in the towel. It's the Mumbai Indians who come out on top at the end of the day, winning the game by 27 runs.
19.6 Kumar Kartikeya to Rashid Khan, wide. A bit of anti-climax. Fired down the leg side to keep Kishan on his toes
19.5 Kumar Kartikeya to Rashid Khan, DROPPED! Another one pitched up on the off-stump line. Rashid attempts another helicopter and mistimes it on this rare occasion. Jordan rushing in from long-off can't hold onto the catch, no run
