Behind square it's 60m and to my right it's 70m. This pitch has a green grass on top of it and you have to bowl test match line and lengths in the first five overs. This pitch can assist the batters too if they can avoid the deliveries in the outside off-stump channel, it's a good track to bat

Well, that's all that we have for you from this low-scoring humdinger. We've now had four low-scoring thrillers in the 2024 T20 World Cup thus far. This sure has been a refreshing sight from all the butchering the bowlers have had to suffer in the T20 Leagues in South Africa and India earlier this year. Props to the ground-staff at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas - there's been heavy rain going into this game, the weather didn't look too promising either, but we still got a full game in!

The highlight of this game, however, must have been the support for Nepal at a venue far, far away from the country - not too often do we see something of this kind for an associate nation! They sure put up a fight and then some against the Netherlands, but 106 was far too less considering the batting depth possessed by the Dutch. Max O'Dowd was glad to play the patient game - the wicket demanded someone to bat long, he did, and helped his team get over the line.

Scott Edwards (Netherlands captain): We got a read of the wicket, our bowlers were awesome up top, picking up 2-3 wickets in the powerplay. Both of those boys have been amazing for us over the years - Logan's been leading the attack well, all five guys were brilliant. Ideally, we would have got it done a little bit quicker, got nervous towards the latter stage. Maxi (O'Dowd) batted throughout and Bassy (de Leede) finished it off there. Bit of a tricky wicket. For us it's the consistency, to make it to the next stage you've got to play well consistently.

Rohit Paudel (Nepal captain): The overhead conditions were really challenging. Credit to the Netherlands bowlers, they did really well. We could have done better as a batting unit, specially after the start. I could have strategized more, missed out there. There was no partnership, and that was the turning point, Netherlands came back stronger. I was moving laterally across the crease to put the bowler off, I was trying to disturb their length. Was working for me, could have done better after the start. We bowled well as a unit, in the field, doing better would have had a different result. I dropped one at a crucial moment, Had I taken that catch things would have been different. I want to thank all of them (the crowd), felt like we were playing at Nepal. As a team we are grateful to them. Thank you so much for you support to the team. If we do well as a batting unit, we can do better.

Tim Pringle (Player of the Match) - We bowled well as a uniit. We bowled stump to stump and hopefully the surface will did the job. Giving flight and varying the speed is crucial for the spinners. I think it's important to hold our lines

Like the Netherlands earlier, Nepal started off quite decently with the new ball, but the pressure coming with defending a meagre total was a touch too much for the Nepal fielders to handle. While the odd chance came along every once in a while, the Nepal players failed to latch onto them. The Netherlands batters were able to bide their time, and in spite of losing a few wickets, had enough time and resources to get past the line.

Michael Levitt tried to get going early, but the conditions still weren't favourable of hitting the ball across its line freely. The ball was still doing quite a lot, Levitt tried to make room and pull against Kami an over and a delivery into the chase, skied it, and was held on by Dipendra Airee at cover. The Netherlands, however, weren't deterred by the early wicket as Vikramjit Singh joined Max O'Dowd, and the duo proceeded to stitch a stabilizing partnership.

Vikramjit was the more aggressive of the two, clearing his front leg and finding the boundaries with relative ease in the powerplay. The Netherlands finished the powerplay with 36 on the board, but were then tied down by some spin from Nepal and gentle medium pace from Abinash Bohara. Bohara created a chance - Vikramjit hoisted one towards deep square and was dropped, but the left-hander was caught in front by Airee the very next over.

The required rate hovered close to six an over as O'Dowd and Engelbrecht navigated the chase post Vikramjit's departure. The large contingent of Nepal supporters still had belief as the Nepal bowlers made their way into the Netherlands' middle-order - Engelbrecht was run out backing up, and Scott Edwards, having struggled throughout his stay in the middle, gave himself too much room against Abinash Bohara and was cleaned up.

Max O'Dowd was still in the middle, though. Having come into the World Cup on the back of a really lean run of form with the odd big score in between, O'Dowd needed a big knock in a crunch situation to gain some confidence back, and the one that he played today sure helped. Having had the odd moment of fortune, O'Dowd, alongside Bas de Leede, took the game deep, struck a couple of boundaries in the penultimate over, and Bas de Leede sealed it with 8 balls remaining. Time for presentations...

Not the margin of victory they'd have had in mind at the innings break, but the Netherlands will take those two points with absolute glee! Nepal fell short - both with their runs in the first innings and their fielding effort today.
