That's all that we have from this match. The final US Masters T10 game starts in a few minutes' time, click here to follow our coverage of the same! This is Rajarshi, signing off on behalf of Mohul for the time being. See you soon!
Gautam Gambhir, New Jersey Tritons captain: It has been good thus far, but we have 4 to 5 matches to go. Hope that we can keep this momentum going. Chasing 85 in five overs yesterday gave us confidence. (On Gambhir not batting today) It was important to have a left-right combination while chasing 116.
Yusuf Pathan is the Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: Enjoying this format a lot, and the team trusts me a lot in terms of winning them matches. Even when the chips were down today, the team planned accordingly and changed the batting order. Don't need to think much in T10 cricket, just back your abilities and play fearless cricket. That's what I do, keep myself in a good position to hit.
Aaron Finch (California Knights' captain): This format goes by too quickly. Yusuf (Pathan) played a very good knock in the end. We backed Benn. He is a very experienced bowler. As I said, this format goes past you too quickly. (On his innings) I think I was trying to hit it too hard in the beginning, but managed to stay in shape later on. This has been a topsy-turvy tournament for me. Got a duck the other day but managed to get some runs today. Jacques Kallis is alright. It takes a lot to rattle the big man. He is the greatest player of all time for a reason.
Match summary:
New Jersey Tritons win by 6 wickets with 2 balls to spare
Yusuf Pathan 35(11) | Peter Trego 1/11 (2) Aaron Finch 75*(31) | Peter Siddle 1/14 (2)
As cool as a cucumber was Peter Trego! Benn, despite having gone for 3 in his first over along with a wicket, was always going to be under pressure bowling in the final over, and the six off the third delivery knocked all the air out of him! The New Jersey Tritons clinch a second successive thrilling victory chasing down a steep total!
Like their opponents earlier, the New Jersey Tritons batters struggled with their timing early on, and with the scoreboard pressure being a fundamental factor, it wasn't looking good for them. Jesse Ryder and Naman Ojha did start finding the boundaries on a more frequent basis once the powerplay ended, but the spin duo of Ashley Nurse and Sulieman Benn struck in succession to sent both openers back.
Albie Morkel was then joined by Yusuf Pathan, and while the former struggled with his timing as well, Pathan was absolutely relentless as the overs drew towards the end! He ensured that the Tritons were back in the game by the time he departed, and while Peter Siddle did a great job of taking the game to the final over, the task of defending 11 proved to be too much for Sulieman Benn. Trego played smart and added a dash of brute force, and went on to seal the deal for his side.
