That brings us to the end of our coverage of the ECS today. Join us tomorrow as we return with five more ECS matches. This is Rajarshi, signing off on behalf of Mohul. Good night!
Lisbon Super Giants simply did not show up for the run-chase today. A target of 139 in 10 overs was always going to be tricky. The fact that they started off in a subdued fashion did not help their cause at all. None of their batters were able to clear the ropes until the last over of the match, which tells a story in itself. The Punjab CC Amadora bowlers just stuck to the basics, kept it in the right areas early on, and that did the trick.
Harpreet Attri and Anthony Chambers didn't show the required intent, walking out to open the innings. Attri scratched his way top a 7-ball 6 before holing out. The middle order simply wilted under the pressure of the scoreboard. Chambers was out there for quite a while, but it was futile. He departed for a 21-ball 28, with the match out of their grasp by then. Hardikkumar Patel connected with a few towards the end, lessing the margin of the loss. Punjab CC improve their chances of reaching the playoffs with a sumptuous win of this manner.
