Match summary:
Red Stars win by 3 runs
Tony Thomas 63 (25) | Ajmal Ali 5/22 (2) Roshan Lorance 36* (20) | Sajith Sukumaran 2/6 (1)
Lorance spills his bat and falls to his knees. He tried his best to take his side home as wickets kept tumbling, backed himself to smash it out of the ground the last ball, but just didn't get enough connection. As it turns out, the 5 runs saved earlier in the innings ended up being a decisive factor in the eventual outcome!
Two bowlers stood out for the Red Stars today. Tony Thomas' day got better as he claimed a couple of wickets in his first over itself, and then Ajmal Ali ripped right through the middle order with some enticing spin bowling, backed by some sharp work from Jovin Jacob behind the stumps. While they went for a few as well, Ajmal ended his quota of overs with a five-for - something that helped the cause of the Red Stars immensely!
Jithin Johny was instrumental in turning the tide towards the Msida Warriors in between, but his wicket turned things around. It was left to Lorance to guide the Warriors home. He tried his best, taking the game to the final over, but in the end, Dilshad Ali held his nerve and defended 16 off the last over.

9.6 Dilshad Ali to Roshan Lorance, DILSHAD ALI HOLDS HIS NERVE! Roshan is on his haunches there, but what a thriller it turned out to be towards the end. Bowls a slower one, Roshan looks to pull but doesn't have that power behind it, mistimes it to long-on and he gets only one.
Ohhhhh! Lorance wants to face the last ball! 4 for a golden ball, 6 to win it...
9.5 Dilshad Ali to Roshan Lorance, slower one, dips a low full toss on the stumps. Roshan mistimes the swipe to deep mid-wicket for no run. Six to win, four for a golden ball!
9.4 Dilshad Ali to Roshan Lorance, OH! Brilliant change of pace there, full and outside the off-stump. Roshan too early to swing and toe ends it to squirt it back to the keeper.
9.3 Dilshad Ali to Roshan Lorance, FOUR MORE! Roshan is keeping the hopes alive for Warriors. Short and wide, Roshan smashes it to wide long-off, runs away for another boundary.
9.2 Dilshad Ali to Roshan Lorance, SIX! BANG! Sensational strike, Warriors haven't given up here. Length delivery outside the off-stump, Roshan walks across off-stump and has pummeled it over deep square-leg fence for a maximum.
9.1 Dilshad Ali to Roshan Lorance, ANOTHER DOT! Short and keeps it wide of off-stump again, Roshan had to stretch and makes no connection again.
