What a way to kickoff the knockout stages in the ECS Hungary T10. The Cobra CC have dethroned the Royal Tigers Budapest by clinching a victory in this nerve-wracking contest. The former makes it to the main event of the competition while the latter will be fighting a spot for the bronze final.
It was a pleasure to bring out this coverage alongside Bidipto. This is me Arijit, and it's time to sign off from the coverage. Thank you for joining with us. Do stick around the Sportskeeda coverage for more such sporting extravaganza.
Cobra CC beat the Royal Tiger Budapest by 3 wickets.
What a topsy-turvy encounter at the 1st Semi Final of the ECS Hungary T10. The Sheikh Rasik-led unit decimates the defending champions and book a spot in the grand final. We will be getting a new champion this year while the Royal Tigers will have to fight for the bronze final.
Arriving for a chase of 115 runs, Hafeez Ullah was removed for a golden duck in the first over. Satyaprakash Ashwathnarayana and Sheikh Rasik glued a crucial 48 runs partnership to set the platform for the chase. The former anchored the innings throughout and got the boundaries on regular phases.
Usama Muhammad arrived at no. 4 and turned the tide with a quickfire 21 off 10 balls. Shaharyar Butt joined the party for a minute moment and soon it was Zeeshan Kukikhel who dragged the ball in their court in the penultimate over. The Tigers' skipper claimed a hat-trick and four wickets fell in the ninth over.
12 runs were required in the final over and the set batter Ashwathnarayana returned back to the hut after hitting a four. So with seven still needed from four balls, Burham struck a six and equalised the tally. It was followed by a quick single and amidst the chaos the Cobra CC sneaked past the finishing line.
Earlier, Cobra CC elected to bowl first after winning the toss. They appeared to have made the right choice because the new ball really served to their advantage.
Within the first four overs, Sheikh Rasik and Ashutosh Mathur operated, bowling two-over stints, and completely decimated the Tigers. The opponent was reduced to 31-5 at the end of the fourth over, thanks to some excellent fielding and strong game awareness.
Sufyan Mohammed and Abdul Mannan delivered some ferocious blows at the cue end that enabled the Tigers to reach 114-9 in 10 overs. Sanjay Kumar picked up three wickets and was the peak of all. Rasik and Mathur both claimed two wickets each.
9.4 Waqar Mehmood to Muhammad Burhan, COBRA CRICKET CLUB ARE OUR FIRST FINALISTS! Good length ball on middle-stump. A short-arm jab to the deep square-leg region from the back foot for the single that they needed to win an absolute thriller!
The scores are level
9.3 Waqar Mehmood to Muhammad Burhan, SIX RUNS! THAT IS A SIX! Full and wide outside off-stump. Smashed over deep cover from the front foot for a maximum! Scores level!
9.3 Waqar Mehmood to Muhammad Burhan, WIDE outside off-stump here! Oh well! That is another extra run given away.
Muhammad Burhan is the new batter at the crease.
9.2 Waqar Mehmood to Satyadeep Ashwathnarayana, CAUGHT BEHIND! Short over off-and-middle. Satyadeep gets cramped for room going for the pull. It gets top edged but the keeper moves to his left and takes a wonderful catch!
Satyadeep Ashwathnarayana c S Mohammed b Waqar Mehmood 53 (26b, 4x4, 5x6).
9.1 Waqar Mehmood to Satyadeep Ashwathnarayana, FOUR RUNS! Short outside off-stump. Edged off the back foot to third man for a timely boundary! Satyadeep goes to fifty!

Could you believe it? It's a hat-trick for Kukikhel and what a time to bring it on. We are down to the final over of this scintillating clash. Four wickets in the last over.
