That brings us to end of a brilliant tournament. MI New York, the deserved champions as they continued winning championships all across the globe. Like always, it was a pleasure bringing all the live action from this game and all through the tournament. Till the next time, this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Sooryanarayanan Sesha. Keep following Sportskeeda for all the latest sporting action.
MCL Trophy to be presented by the legendary Sunil Gavaskar and the celebrations start for the MI New York franchise. Owner Nita Ambani joins them and the celebrations will go on late at night. What a massive success.
And now, time to hear from Nicholas Pooran (MI New York captain): Chatting today we spoke about the opportunity to create history. Qualifying fourth, it was hard work reaching the finals, losing the captain and a couple of other players. We stuck through with our backs against the wall. I'm really proud of every single individual in our dressing room. Everyone contributed in some way. Definitely it was game on but we knew it was a really good batting wicket. We were preparing for this moment a week ago. We had four games in six days and we defended 140, chased down 160 and put ourselves in high-pressure situations for this game. And we got over the line today. I was sitting there outside and said 'okay Nicky, you're not the captain anymore. You're going to bat like Nicky P'. I've been working on my game over the years and trying to become more consistent. The opportunity was in front of me today. I've been working hard for the last five to six years to try and finish the job. I just want to thank all the fans who came out and support us. Major League this year has definitely been a success.
Nita Ambani to present the winning medals to the MI New York contingent. She flew in from Mumbai just to cheer for her side and she has a flight back home in a few hours time so it clearly shows the dedication, she has for the team.
Nicholas Pooran is also adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. Hope he's got a bag big enough to fit all those awards in!
Nicholas Pooran is now awarded for finishing as the leading run-getter of the tournament with 388 runs - 124 runs more than Quinton de Kock, who finished second.
Trent Boult receives an award for finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 22 scalps - that's twice the number that Cameron Gannon, who came second on the charts, picked up.
Cameron Gannon (Domestic player of the Tournament): Very happy, its pleasing to get acknowledgement. Tonight is about MI New York. What a knock from Nichi. It's nice to get an award but not happy with the result. I guess, it's been a wonderful tournament. The quality has been exceptional. It's fun playing with some of the best in the game. Looking forward to coming back if I can. I think I will like to play in a World Cup. I am 34 now and not looking too much in the future.
The match officials are to be presented with memorabilia.
Now off to post-tournament presentations with Pommie Mbangwa.
