Istanbul KSK won by 5 runs Mecit Ozturk 53(28) | Kushaal Krishnakumar 32(24) Zohaib Iqbal 2-15(2) | Kevin D'Souza 1-20(2)
It turned out to be a great match but the Istabul bowlers kept their composure under pressure to edge past the Spartans by 5 runs. The Spartans got off to a great start but they couldn't carry the momentum forward, once the field got spread, all thanks to some tight bowling from Iqbal and Ozberk.
The openers got dismissed in quick succession and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the Spartans as Sid Nair's arrival to the crease changed the complexion of the match. He went after the bowlers from the word go and dragged his team back into the contest. However, he got run out in an unfortunate way in the final over and that didn't help the team's cause.
It's a pretty close match and Iqbal's spell turned out to be a big difference for the Istanbul eventually. Alright! Two matches done, and three more to go. 9.1 Murad Ozbek to Sid Nair, RUN OUT! Fuller on off-and-middle. Dragged away to deep backward square-leg for a single. They try to come back for two but the good throw to the keeper and the quick dislodging of the bails cuts Nair's stay at the crease short!
Sid Nair run out (Ali Turkmen) 24 (9b, 1*4, 3*6)
Who is going to bowl the final over. Ozberk has the ball in hand. He bowled a superb first over, can he get the job done for his team?
