Right then. That wraps up the tri-series but the good news is, you won't have to wait too long for more women's cricket action. The T20 World Cup gets underway on February 10th and the warm-up fixtures have already got underway. You can stay tuned to Sportskeeda to keep up with all the action from the tournament, but for now, this is Pratyush, signing off on behalf of my partner Pradeep. Buh bye!
As for India, they were unbeaten throughout this tri-series before stumbling at the final hurdle. Getting over the finish line, that's something they will want to address before the T20 World Cup. Keeping all things in mind though, it was a series of a few positives for them. The biggest takeaway and something to keep an eye though, is the fitness of Harmanpreet Kaur. She reassured that it isn't much of an issue, but with a big tournament around the corner, they can never be too careful.
The South African captain receives the trophy and is joined by her teammates as they celebrate some silverware. This win for South Africa cannot be understated, especially with it coming in the absence of Marizanne Kapp. Plenty of positives to take for them from this game, none bigger than Chloe Tryon's match-winning performance.
Sune Luus (South African captain): Super proud of the girls. It was a great win for us and we needed one us all in the build-up to the World Cup. It was an out-an-out spinning wicket, felt like we were playing in India again. Special innings from Chloe to top it off. That's something we pride ourselves on (fielding) and our fielding coach would be very happy with that performance. That's something we can control and will be working on improving that consistently.
Deepti Sharma is the Player of the Series. Here is what she has to say: What we have discussed in the meetings, I did that. So, I'm happy with my performance. It was turning quite a bit, so it was helping our spinners. The wicket was quite helpful.
Chloe Tryon is the Player of the Match! Here's what she has to say: Good game, bowlers did well upfront, restricted India, on a wicket like that, it always feels to make runs and happy that I could take the team over the line. Really did well as a team, going into the world up gives us the confidence, this team has been doing really well, it's exciting to get the world up underway in front of the home crowd, can't ask for anything better.
Harmanpreet Kaur (India captain): Body is fine, will take two or three days but it'll be fine. Just have to enjoy yourself, whatever is the situation, that's what we've been doing. Lot of positives before heading to the world cup, we've come up with good performance except that we didn't bat well today but the bowling did well. Keep doing the best things in the world up to do well.
All smiles and high-fives for Chloe Tryon and South Africa. Cometh the hour, cometh the vice-captain! She's single-handedly dragged her side to the finish line with one of the best knocks you'll ever witness in a crunch game to snatch this one away from India.
Defending a total of 110 is never a straightforward task and India started off well enough to give themselves a chance. With spin to start off, the off-spinning duo of Rana and Deepti dismissed the two South African openers and opened the door for their side to stay in this contest.
Lara Goodall and Sune Luus followed soon after, leaving the hosts tottering at 47-4 around the halfway stage. India would have thought they were in the driver's seat in that situation but they came up against an in-form Chloe Tryon who single-handedly took her side home with a sensational half-century.
Annerie Dercksen played her part in that run chase with a cameo and Nadine de Klerk showed her experience to hang in there till the end alongside the vice-captain. Things weren't going India's way throughout the day and succumbed to another loss at the final hurdle, which will be disappointing with the T20 World Cup not far away.
The captains will have plenty to add with the post-match comments. Stick around for the presentation.

17.6 Sneh Rana to Chloe Tryon, SIX! OH MY WORD! VASTRAKAR DROPS A SITTER AND SOUTH AFRICA WIN THE TRI-SERIES! Length delivery on the stumps, Tryon sits on one knee and slog sweeps it, doesn't get the connection right, Vastrakar settles under it at deep backward square-leg this time but she spills it and it goes over the ropes for a maximum. Fittingly Tryon seals the game!
