The first game was very low scoring, in the 180 region. That's going to continue. The wicket's going to start wearing a bit, possibly a little slower. The ground-staff have rolled in some grass to keep it together. Couple of puffs of dust last night. Still a really good deck, in the evening it can quicken up a little bit and come onto the bat better. Conditions should be very good for batting, the bowlers have plenty to do here and the spinners are going to have a bigger role to play. 180-190 should win you a game of cricket, reports Abhishek Jhunjhunwala and Jon Kent.

Commentary

That's it from this wonderful game, folks! It's the pair of Rudransh and Rajarshi signing off for Sportskeeda!

Dinesh Karthik (Southern Superstars captain): They did (show belief). That was the best part of the day. The pitch was pretty hard to bat on. I thought the spinners were better off post the powerplay and was waiting for the pressure to creep up slowly before bringing them on. He (Chatarunga) batted really well. It was a really important innings. He also bowled really well and made it seem easier than it was. Two players, him and Dhawan, looked like they batted on a different track. (On if the competitive juices flowed again) They did. The keeping was a bit rusty. The batting was fine. I was feeling okay. But more importantly, we won the match.

Chathuranga de Silva is the Legend of the Match, here's what he has to say: We were five wickets down at the halfway stage. Me and DK were talking about building the innings back. It's hard to start because of the bounce and turn. I am used to batting number six and seven. (Did he enjoy Shikhar's wicket?) Of course!

Shikhar Dhawan (Gujarat Greats captain): I feel that at the end I should have gotten my off-spinner bowling another over. They were 80 for 8, and got 140 from there. Gave too many runs over there. We lost too many wickets at the end. Not an easy wicket to bat on for a new batsman. We knew that it's going to turn more and get tougher, the plan was to cash on the first six overs or so. It's very competitive, specially for T20, batting will be tougher, wicket is not suppprting the batsmen, that's where skill comes in. Great feeling, grateful to the fans that they've come and they've appreciated my presence.

The Superstars are stars of making comebacks. After recovering from 88/8 in the first innings, they were defending 140-odd with the opposition at 93/2 at one stage and have won by 26 runs! How did they do it? By bowling 16 overs of spin and only four overs of pace!

Most of those overs of pace came in the powerplay and Shikhar got off to a great start. van Wyk struggled at the other end though and eventually got out to Kedar Jadhav's almost under-arm spin. Spinners kept coming on and on and wickets fell like bowling pins.

Dhawan, under pressure, couldn't counter-attack and Jadhav deserves special credit for it. Suddenly the over-rate went sky-high and, he succumbed to the pressure as well. Razak ran through the tail with his yorkers and it was all done and dusted.
