Sri Lanka bowled good lengths which were played well by the West Indies batters Sri Lanka in the first six overs couldn't do anything about it in the first game. Charith Asalanka (captain, Sri Lanka): It is a very important win for us. Toss was very important and luckily I won the toss. I mentioned at the toss that 160-170 was a par score and the openers set up well for us. He (Wellalage) didn't look like a debutant, he has played 50 over cricket and used that experience here

Rovman Powell (captain, West Indies): We thought we could have gotten to 160, but this wasn't a T20 wicket. The opposition used the conditions better. It was about reaching the ball which we didn't. We have 24 hours and we will here again after watching our dismisses. I tried to get my left hand spinner to the right handers just like the opposition skipper.

Pathum Nissanka is the Player of the Match, here is what he had to say: He speaks about the importance of the innings. He had a special plan against the spinners and it was just the cramps which halted his innings towards the end.

Sri Lanka inflict a heavy loss on West Indies as the visitors register their fourth-lowest total in their T20 history. They will be proud of making a strong comeback in this game and also keeping the series alive.

Chasing 163 should have been light work for the Men in Maroon but they failed big time. The opening pair of King and Lewis failed and from then on it was a procession, with only Sherfane Rutherford being able to add some runs in the middle order. Rovman Powell demoted himself down the order and did a great job, scoring 20 along with Alzarri Joseph but that wasn't enough as the Windies struggled to get past the three-figure mark.

Sri Lankan bowlers had a field day as they picked up wickets for fun. Dunith Wellalage on debut, had three scalps to his name, making it a memorable first game for him. Charith Asalanka, Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga returned with two wickets each as Pathirana, coming late into the attack, helped by prizing out Rovman Powell.

16.1 Maheesh Theekshana to Alzarri Joseph, WICKET! Sri Lanka wins by 73 runs. That was the carrom ball and Alzarri had absolutely no idea which way the ball was turning. Pitched on a fuller-length around middle and turns away from Alzarri, he played the wrong line, gets beaten and the middle stump has been rattled. A comprehensive 73 run win for Sri Lanka as the series has been levelled 1-1.
