Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka captain): This win is really good for us because we have a young side. I controlled myself and tried to control the game. India is a good side and have good experienced players playing franchise cricket as well. If we play to our potential we can win. Unfortunately we lost the last two games because of our batting. This is a good win going into the ODIs. I thank the fans for coming in here and playing at home is exciting for me.

Harmanpreet Kaur (Indian captain): Sri Lanka deserved the win the way they batted. After first six overs, they didn't let us bounce back. A partnership was there but we needed a better strike rate. This total was not enough for us to win the game but still we had good partnerships, which is a positive. We need to work on our strike rate though. When they (the crowds) are there and supporting, that's what you need from the crowds. I want to thank them and keep supporting women's cricket.

Well, no better way for hosts Sri Lanka to end the series and take momentum into the ODI's now. Chamari Athapaththu led from the front and she played a fabulous unbeaten knock of 80 in that chase. Quite comfortably done by them in the end, getting over the line with three overs to spare as well. They were in control of this chase right from the beginning and all the batters showed positive intent, which was quite pleasing to see.

It was getting partnerships that Chamari spoke of at the toss and her side did manage to tick that box off in this contest, which will be the biggest take-away for them. Despite them losing a couple of wickets in the powerplay, they kept going, putting the bowlers under pressure and kept the board ticking with some good running as well. Led by Chamari, this was a very well paced chase with smart and intelligent batting. They were given chances and misfields did help them, nonetheless, credit where it is due and this has been a convincing performance from the hosts.

On the other hand, India do take the series but they have a lot of thinking to do moving forward from here. Their bowlers just could not build pressure on the Sri Lankan batters at any point in the chase. They dropped chances and there were a lot of misfields that surely let them down and is something that they will specifically have to look at and work on. Their failure to get going in the middle overs while batting is also something that they will have to work on. It was still a good total and the bowling, and the fielding of course, was not up to the mark as they would have wanted it to be.

Sri Lankan skipper Chamari Athapaththu was out on a mission and nothing better than herself leading from the front, carrying her bat as well and finishing the game off. They struggled in the previous game but with her at the crease playing anchor and taking responsibility, the other batters came off pretty nicely as well. While they will want to reduce their dependency on her, this performance will certainly give them the belief heading forward as a batting unit.

That is that for this series then. India winning 2-1 and Sri Lanka keeping up some pride with a spirited performance here. Their bowlers have done well throughout and it was only time that their batters rose to the occasion as well. An off-day for India in the field but overall, this has been a really exciting series!

India do take the series 2-1 but they will be disappointed with this finish. Sri Lanka will be pleased to have come back to end the series on a high!

Chamari has looked to score quickly and she now wants to get done with this soon. Poor from India in the field again and this has been the story of the innings as well. Just not their day and the hosts and Sri Lanka have sealed a consolation win. The skipper fittingly scoring the winning runs as Sri Lanka salvage pride. This has been an excellent innings from Chamari and a run-chase of quality! Sri Lanka win by 7 wickets!
