Chloe Ainsworth (Player of the Match): That's what we want to do, we want to win and we got a good win today. Considering we defended 108 the other day, 171 on the board is a lot nicer. I do a lot of work with my bowling coach, but also just got to bowl. I wanted to get Chamari and that happened but I also wanted to get Litchfield.

What a performance from the Perth Scorchers! Known for their bowling strength, the Scorchers dazzled with the bat tonight to post their highest score of WBBL 10 at 171, thanks to superb knocks from young talent Dayalan Hemalatha and captain Sophie Devine. The Scorchers set a solid foundation and then carried their momentum into a stellar bowling performance, skittling out Sydney Thunder for a mere 97 to seal a massive 74-run victory.

The Scorchers’ bowling attack was relentless from the start. Chloe Ainsworth delivered an impactful opening spell, removing both openers—Chamari Athapaththu and Georgia Voll, early in the chase, setting the tone for Thunder's downfall. Though Thunder skipper Phoebe Litchfield and Heather Knight tried to steady the innings, the Scorchers’ disciplined bowling gave them no space to score freely. Amy Edgar led the charge with her 3/19 spell, complemented by her teammates, who collectively strangled the Thunder lineup.

This victory pushes the Scorchers to the second spot in the points table.
