Independents CC beat Tallinn Stallions by 27 runs!
Tom Nightingale 75* (28) | Matthew Stokes 2/17 Saif Ur Rehman 50 (14) | William Peatfield 2/32
Of all the players of the Tallinn Stallions, it will be their skipper Saif Ur Rehman who will be disappointed the most. He struck an amazing half century off just 13 deliveries but could not quite get his side over the line. He took the attack to the Independents' bowlers, and made them pay for the errors that they made.
Rehman eventually departed for an even 50, but not before he had shown us some of the most drool-worthy strokes one can expect to see in this format of the game. The Independents, led by their spearhead Wiiliam Peatfield, were given a scare, and one needs to give them a lot of credit for the way they bounced back.
Rifaq Khan too tried his best to put his pedal to the metal, but the blitzkrieg that came off his bat was a little too late too little. Independents CC will be extremely pleased with this performance of theirs, and they will take a lot of confidence. The Stallions tried their best to win this game from nowhere, and they can hold their heads high.
