Match Summary-
New South Wales win by 160 runs.
Tasmania: 140/10 (28.1) Matthew Wade 42 (49) | Tom Rogers 23* (19) Chris Green 4/20 (9.0) | Hayden Kerr 2/25 (4.0)
The opening partnership between Patterson and Hughes proved to be enough in the end as they might have felt they fell short 50-60 runs after that 207 run opening stand, but the bowlers bundled Tasmania out for just 140 in the 29th over.
Sams started off with the wickets in the 3rd over as the top three were out in the powerplay itself. Tremain bowled exceptionally well in his first spell as he took 2 wickets. Silk and Wade got a little partnership going as Wade hit a bunch of boundaries and a six, but Silk got out soon.
Green got the wicket of Silk, as he took 3 more after that and took care of the middle order. Kerr helped Green as he took a wicket on his first delivery and two wickets in total. Sams came in and took the last wicket to help them get a bonus point as well.
Wade played well, but as he was at one end and wickets falling on the other, he tried to go for a big shot and gave away his wicket. Doran also got a start but could not convert it, as he got out to a brilliant catch by Henriques at short covers. Rogers hit a few boundaries in the end, and Meredith had some fun with two boundaries and a huge six.
28.1 Daniel Sams to Riley Meredith, OUT! AND THAT IS THE MATCH! Slow and short, into the pitch, Meredith sets himself up for the pull, then suddenly finds that it is not quite there pace-wise, still goes through with his shot on the back foot, and gets it to go straight down the throat of deep mid-wicket for a simple CATCH to end the match! New South Wales win by 160 runs with 21 overs and 5 balls to spare.
Riley Meredith c Hayden Kerr b Daniel Sams 16 (15b, 2x4, 1x6)
Rogers almost hit one back to Green, but it just fell short in front of him. He almost had his 5-wicket haul.
