That will be all from this nice game in the ECS England T10 competition in which Wimbledon beat Tunbridge Wells albeit with a few challenges. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Until next time, ciao!
Wimbledon beat Tunbridge Wells by 3 wickets!
Charlie Grant 16* (5) | Jack Boyle 2-2 Steve Reeves 14* (5) | Charlie Whipple 2-10
Although Wimbledon won this game, they lost far too many wickets to chase such a modest total of 73 down and will not be pleased with the way things went.
Tunbridge Wells bowled extremely well and forced the batters of Wimbledon into playing false strokes. Wimbledon will have to look in the mirror and wonder what went wrong for them and why they lost so many wickets while chasing such a low total.
One of the reasons was arrogance and mistrust in their own abilities; they also took the bowlers of Tunbridge too lightly but fortunately, did not pay the price for it. Tunbridge know that although they lost this game, they came pretty close to winning it - if only they had more runs on the board.
6.2 Raj Gupta to Steve Reeves, SIX MORE! Game.set.match. Short of a length and it's been pulled comfortably over long-on to seal things in style
6.1 Raj Gupta to Steve Reeves, SIX! Flighted delivery and the line is straight. Reeves nails the slog sweep over deep mid-wicket for a maximum
Raj Gupta is back into the attack.
Wimbledon are making things difficult for themselves by playing unnecessary shots. They need to put their heads down and chase these runs down as soon as they can.
