That's it from this superb game, folks. Hope you weren't as breathless as us watching it and can now sleep (or wakeup, whatever suits your time zone) peacefully. This is a goodbye from Rudransh and Rajarshi. Take care!
Jos Buttler: Great to keep the series alive. When you chase 220 is always a good feeling. Credit to Phil Salt and Brook. Staying in the game is something we spoke about. We tried to bowl a lot of things. Bowling quick on the pitch looked like a good plan for the spinners and pace-off but not too much for the pacers. He has got such good intent from the first ball. We have spoken about staying in the game and carrying forward, you can surprise yourself. Credit to Harry Brook for the way he played too. Great to win the game and keep the series alive.
Rovman Powell: It's just disappointing to score 220 and lose. But guys did a fair job. The batters did really well and the bowlers did well in patches. Nothing to think about Shepheard. We trust our guys to do the job, it just didn't come off well today. We are six hitters so we try to hit as many of those as possible. The guys are improving steadily so those are encouraging signs. Both Hosein and Motie bowled very well. We just need to sit down and come up with better plans. Credit to them, they fought hard in what is a very good series.
Phil Salt is the Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: Feels like it's been a long time time in an England shirt. Feels special to do it now, with them being able to take the series today. We've been talking as a group about someone standing up and being a match-winner, we saw Shai's knock in Antigua and how composed he was. That made the difference with somebody in our side. We tried to get it to 60 or 70 in the last five, that's what we did today, and Brooky came and played a knock at the end. You can't get 40 off 20 and then 10 off 10 balls, changes the whole complexion of the game. It's about playing my game and doing it my way. It's more about the role in the partnership. So pleased to do it here in Grenada.
A HISTORICAL RUN-CHASE. THE HIGHEST SUCCESFUL RUN CHASE FOR ENGLAND VS THE WEST INDIES. THE BEST EVER IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD. THE SERIES IS ALIVE AND KICKING. ENGLAND BREATHE AGAIN AFTER A SUFFOCATING LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. AND IT'S TWO YOUNG LADS WHO HAVE GIVEN THEM THIS LIEFLINE!
Sorry for the all-caps, folks. It's just been that kind of an evening.
End of the match!
England win by 6 wickets with one ball to spare. Series score line reads 2-1.
Phil Salt 109 (56) | Adil Rashid (2/32) Nicholas Pooran 82 (45) | Gudakesh Motie (1/30)
What a roller-coaster this was. It sets up the series perfectly. West Indies, after scoring the highest-ever total on this ground, would have never in their wildest dreams imagined England to chase it with such authority. But the English giant, whether or not it has risen forever now, did snore a bit and made the earth shake.
West Indies just weren't in the game completely when they started. Buttler and Salt came out with all guns blazing like they had to and met with some tight bowling but some very loose fielding. Salt survived an early LBW call but the two openers picked up good momentum in the powerplay.
Buttler looked in prime touch and the visitors were almost cruising till the eighth over. This is when Motie, who conceded 18 in his first over, switched ends. Suddenly, through him and Hossain, West Indies strung together three relatively quiet overs and the pressure told on Buttler.
Will Jacks came and went after wasting some balls too and West Indies suddenly looked ahead. Their fielding went up a notch and despite Livingstone's cameo, they looked a bit too far from the target. Just then, Salt got to his magnificent hundred from the other end but Livingstone holed one to long on the next ball.
The game was 70-30 in West Indies' favor but Brook threw all that into a bin by smashing a six off his first ball. And then one boundary, and then three more sixes in an absolute mental cameo. Russell faced the brunt of his in the last over as he constantly erred on lengths to give away the advantage.
It's a win that will give England a ton of confidence, which if they can convert, could be the start of something special.
19.5 Andre Russell to Harry Brook, SIX! Brook and Salt scream in joy! This is the highest successful run-chase for England against the West Indies, and the highest on Caribbean soil! Russell tries the wide yorker, ends up being a half volley for Brook, who moves away and slices the ball over the circle at third man - connection so good that the ball flew over the ropes!
19.4 Andre Russell to Harry Brook, banged in on the deck on off stump, Brook looks to pull, but miscues it towards deep mid wicket. The call was for two, though, and they get it with ease eventually
New balls coming up! Won't matter if Russell will bowl like that. He has been real weaklink in these last two T20Is.
Get this, he thumps that shot away and he just walks down the wicket, adjusts his glove and ignores a clueless looking Andre Russell. WOW!
19.3 Andre Russell to Harry Brook, SIX MORE!!! Harry Brook is making absolute light work of this target now! High full toss down leg, Brook merely gives it a flick with his wrists, sending the ball soaring into the sky and eventually into the banks at long leg! Just 5 needed off 3 for England!
