Commentary

West Indies continue their dominance in their backyard and win yet another series. They are a force to reckon with in this format and despite South Africa matching them in all departments, they couldn't deliver their goods in the crunch moments.

The hosts won the series with a game in hand and would look to complete the clean sweep. That would be a perfect revenge for them since they were knocked out by the Proteas in the T20 World Cup recently. Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain) - I think the way we came back when we were put under pressure was the best positive from this game. We were under pressure when they were going strong in the powerplay. I had a meeting with the guys after the first six overs. I told them to breathe. The wicket will do a bit no matter how good it looks now. (On Shepherd) When you give guys opportunities and back them, they can do well. Brandon King is our Number one opener, and he is not here. He was leading us in the last T20I series against the same team. Alick Athanaze is a good player. Feels pretty excited to see him perform. It's always good to beat such a good team. It has become a regular here in Trinidad. We are forever grateful to the people of Trinidad

Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain) - (Where the game shifted) Think somewhere around the middle overs. Some good improvement from the last game but they made scoring tough for us in the back end. Looking forward to come up with a plan in the next game. His (Lizaad Williams) skillset is there for the world to see. I am glad he could get a game today and probably will continue. He's a proper competitor and yeah, it is tough to put a finger on it right now. It shows how much experience counts. We need to identify areas in bowling and batting where we can improve. One thing as a country we can guarantee is that we will come in with a never-say-die attitude."

Romario Shepherd is the Player of the Match for his figures of 3/15 in 4 overs. Here is what he has to say: Very pleased after the first game didn't go well. Paid attention to my execution and it paid off. I take it ball by ball, I rushed a bit in the first game and returned back to ball by ball and did well. In T20 cricket you cannot think about past performances. My role is to hit as many runs as possible and bowl the change-ups. Any bowler can speak for them and anyone can see the pressure. It is mentally challenging and the best bowlers also fail. That's why I said to forget past performances. I mixed up faster balls along with some slower deliveries in the middle.

West Indies won by 30 runs

South Africa were much better with the ball and far more aggressive with the bat than the last game but still ended up on the losing side. This is a tough pill to swallow as they got off to a flying start and were in control for the majority of the run chase. Hendricks was firing on all cylinders and tore the South African pacers apart inside the powerplay

The openers put up a 63-run stand and had all the momentum on their side but Shepherd's introduction changed the complexion of the match. Well, he removed the dangerous Hendricks and ended Markram's short stay in the middle to bring his side back into the contest. Once the field got spread, it was hard to find boundaries at regular intervals and the struggle was evident when Rassie was striking under 100. The spinners took the initiative after the halfway mark and that made things bad to worse for the visitors

Still, Stubbs presence made South Africa to believe but once Hosein got the better of him, it turned out to be one-way traffic. South Africa lost wickets in clusters and West Indies' bowlers didn't bowl any looseners to throw the momentum away. They lost 6 wickets for just 20 runs
