Thank you for joining me, Mohul Bhowmick and my partner Rajarshi Das, for this exciting game in the CSA T20 Challenge. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did bringing it to you. Until next time, goodbye!
Kyle Verreynne, captain of Western Province: The boys played their socks off tonight; very pleased with this win. We wanted to get a win for ourselves for a long time, and finally we have been able to get one under our belt. We are ready to face the Dolphins. They look like a brilliant outfit but we are prepared to take them on. Happy for all the boys.
Daniel Smith, Batter of the Match: This tournament is providing us with a massive opportunity, and I want to grab it with both hands. It was not ideal to lose our skipper in the warmup, but I was determined to make this knock count. It was wonderful to play with Gavin (Kaplan) and build a partnership with him. Looking forward to some more positive results.
Dane Paterson, Bowler of the Match: Very happy with this performance. I am glad that I could bowl in the right areas. You look to kill the game at that stage (bowling well in the 14th over) and fortunately, it worked our way tonight. Happy that we could get this win after a long time.
Western Province beat North West Dragons by 27 runs. Daniel Smith 69 (46) | Duan Jansen 2/26 Senuran Muthusamy 39* (25) | Dane Paterson 2/28
Western Province were the better side throughout the game, and the result at the end points towards that. Although the North West Dragons were given a bit of hope by the exploits of Muthusamy and Jansen, they could not carry on for much longer, and in the end, the bowlers of Western Province, led by Dane Paterson and Nandre Burger, prevailed.
North West got off to a disastrous start when they lost their skipper and most experienced player Heino Kuhn for a golden duck. After that, there was no one to take up the mantle and consolidate their innings. Western Province bowled in the right areas throughout the game and were rewarded with a victory at the end of the game.
There can be no contesting that Western Province were the rightful winners of this game. North West will have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what went wrong for them and what they can do right in their next matches in this competition. At least they did not let Western Province win with a bonus point tonight.

17.5 Dane Paterson to Hardus Coetzer, smashes this full delivery on the bounce towards the man at long-on, just the single
17.4 Dane Paterson to Hardus Coetzer, yorker, right up in the blockhole and Coetzer can merely deadbat this one
17.3 Dane Paterson to Hardus Coetzer, FOUR, this was a full delivery slowed down, Coetzer waited for this one and smashed this one down the ground over the fielder at mid-on
