Craig Ervine, Zimbabwe captain: Didn't really think that it was a 200 wicket, but the way Sikandar and Wessley batted, things got better and better for us. The idea obviously is to be as clinical as possible, but we did give away quite a few extras today, so we need to get better on that front tomorrow.

Nurul Hasan, Bangladesh captain: No I think that it was a really good game, if we could concede 10-15 less runs, the game could have been different for us. So we need to improve on certain areas here, and hopefully, get a better result tomorrow. We will be up for it for sure, no doubt about that.

Raza: We discussed that 160-180 will be good on this wicket. We had a good start and if one out of myself, Burl or Milton came off, thought we could get 180! I didn't think it was a 200 wicket, neither a 190 one. Was a good pitch but it was slightly two-paced. After those scary moments with a couple of surgeries, nothing bothers me now. Whether my form is good or not, just to come out alive and still playing cricket is a blessing

This was an innings filled with action, from start, to finish! Whether it was the Litton Das run out, or the stop at deep cover to prevent the boundary, or the late onslaught from Nurul Hasan and Mosaddek Hossain to inspire a Bangladesh fightback or the superb penultimate over from Richard Nagarava, all of these, were just, fantastic!

Zimbabwe, having scored so many runs in the first innings, were the favourites to win this, and the fact that Bangladesh lacked experience in their batting to steer the ship, also helped the hosts, but the fight was on all the time from the visitors.

Litton Das and Anamul Haque put together a solid 50-partnership, but under bizarre circumstances, with a plethora of mistakes from both sides, Litton got run out, which kind of put the brakes on the scoring. Then there was a revival waiting to happen, and Zimbabwe were giving away some friendly freebies to assist their visitors, by way of extras and even misfields. Some loose deliveries were also served to the batters. But then they got their act together, pulled off some stunning saves and got right back in the contest to wrest the initiative.

Then came a late surge from captain Nurul and Mosaddek, that threatened to take the game away from the hosts, but the second last over from left-armer Ngarava, filled with inch-perfect wide yorkers, made it really difficult for Bangladesh to get the winning runs off the final over. But the drama did not end there, as a four and a six off back-to-back balls, suddenly made it to be 18 runs off 3 balls, with the six coming off a sitter being dropped at deep mid-wicket!

But then, fast bowler Tanaka Chivanga held his nerve and finished it out without giving another run away!

The pitch played well throughout the match, and there was something in it for all concerned, if they chose to give their best. Surely, the second match, coming up tomorrow at the Harare Sports Club itself, will be another good one after this kind of a game! But of course, Zimbabwe won it with the bat and Bangladesh lost it with the ball!
