Commentary

Craig Ervine (Zimbabwe skipper): We weren't great with the ball again. Credit to Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza. The ball striking from both were phenomenal. It was little bit of a tricky start. We thought if we build the innings and then get going, it is difficult to restrict the batters. We wanted to restrict them to 290-300 but we still came back well in the innings. They could have got to 340-350. It is a little bit tricky having so many options. Sometimes, it makes it a little hard to make the decisions. Sikandar was fantastic with the ball. Thought seam was becoming easy and went to Wesley. He is generally good with the new ball but wasn't his day today. We have got so many bowling options, it is hard for our bowlers to get ten overs. We just need to keep the momentum going.

Scott Edwards, the Netherlands' captain: We had ourselves in the game for a long time. This was a very good wicket, and we dropped catches. We pride ourselves on our fielding, but when it came down to it today, we struggled. The conditions today were a little different from what we had a couple of months ago. Really disappointed today- 315 is definitely enough to win a game. We just have to bowl and field better. We did not bowl or field our best today. Games coming thick and fast, and we need to put this one behind us and focus ahead.

Sikandar Raza, Player of the Match: As much as I am smiling at the moment, the job is not done at the moment. We back ourselves throughout the game. Credit to the Dutch boys for the way they went about their job. I decided to take on every ball the best I could. I also wanted to respect the good deliveries. We celebrate each other's success, and we need to keep doing this. It doesn't really matter who is performing as long as we win and go to India for the World Cup.

What a terrific run-chase once again from Zimbabwe. They have wrapped up a 316-run chase with more than nine overs to spare. Simply sensational from the hosts. The pressure was on the batters after the bowlers conceded a massive target but the duo of Joylord Gumbie and Craig Ervine came out with a good opening partnership once more.

The Netherlands also helped the Zimbabwean batters with substitute keeper Noah Croes spilling a chance off Joylord Gumbie early in the innings. Gumbie was dropped once again at mid-on while Ervine also had a reprieve on his own with Clayton Floyd being the guilty party. The Netherlands eventually broke through courtesy Vikramjit Singh when Ervine miscued an attempted scoop to short mid-wicket with Floyd taking a sharp catch this time.

Sean Williams was promoted to No.3 and the experienced southpaw carried on from where he left of against Nepal. However, there was a slight stutter as Shariz Ahmad castled Gumbie with a googly before he got rid of Wesley Madhevere too. At 162-3, Zimbabwe needed to rebuild and the pair of Williams and Sikandar Raza counter-attacked with ease. Runs came easily even as Scott Edwards tried different bowling options. Even late in the innings, Netherlands continued to dropped catches. This helped Sean Williams to race on towards a possible second century in consecutive games. However, Bas de Leede bounced him out in the 35th over falling nine short of the triple-figure mark.

Even after Williams fell, Sikandar continued to only grow in confidence as he smashes three consecutive sixes off Shariz Ahmad. In the end, Sikandar smashed a six to break the record for the fastest ODI century by a Zimbabwean batsman while also registering the winning runs in that process

Raza hangs back in the crease and slogs it away over the long off fence for a massive hit to score the fastest century by a Zimbabwean in ODIs.
