Dabang Delhi KC 38 - 38 Puneri Paltan

It definitely didn't look like this game would be heading that way at the end of the timeout in the 2nd half, with Delhi trailing by 11 points, but a superb comeback headlined by another brilliant Ashu Malik performance meant that this fixture between the Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi KC became the 4th tie of Pro Kabaddi 2024!

The Puneri Paltan were on the money right from the start despite Aslam's absence, with Akash Shinde filling in quite well, picking up the first all-out in a flash. Delhi hit back strongly, courtesy some really skillful raiding from Ashu, but Aman and Abinesh Nadarajan combined really well in Super Tackle situations to deny Delhi the all-out till half-time.

Post the mid-way point, Delhi struck back instantly to complete the all-out, but were left defenseless as Pune launched a counter-attack of their own that led to their 2nd all-out, leaving them trailing by 11 points with just 10 minutes to go! But some impactful raiding from the substitute Mohit, a magical couple of raids from Ashu Malik and some clutch defending helped Delhi register a stunning comeback!

Both the Pune corners returned to form, scoring ten tackle points between them, with Akash Shinde and Pankaj Mohite doing decently in the raiding department. For Delhi, it was an Ashu Malik show all the way, with the captain scoring 17 raid points, ably assisted by six crucial points from Mohit, with Yogesh silently leaving his mark on the match with four tackle points.

We were treated to a phenomenal encounter on Tuesday night, with Dabang Delhi making a comeback for the ages against the defending champions. That's all we have for you today. Join us again tomorrow for more intense and pulsating kabaddi action. For now, it's goodnight and goodbye!
2nd Half, 40'
Dabang Delhi KC 38 - 38 Puneri Paltan

It appears that both teams are happy with a tie, but Akash Shinde surprises the right cover with a toe touch that he claims vehemently, but the referees don't give it initially.

After some discussion, they stick with their original decision as the crowd in Noida erupts, cheering as Dabang Delhi KC have stolen a tie from the jaws of defeat with a terrific comeback! What a game!
2nd Half, 39:49'
Dabang Delhi KC 38 - 38 Puneri Paltan

Ashu Malik desperately wants to go full throttle against a 5-man Delhi defense but wisely bides his time and puts in an empty raid instead. Mohit Goyat kills time in his next raid, and with around 40 seconds to go, Ashu goes in once more.

And he gets a huge point for his side! Gaurav Khatri can't stop himself from initiating the tackle, and he'll be relieved the rest of the defense stayed away and it was just a one point-raid for Ashu.

Pune call for a timeout with seconds left to play. The scores are tied!
2nd Half, 39'
Dabang Delhi KC 37 - 38 Puneri Paltan

Manoj has created an insane amount of impact since he comes on, and he puts in a beautiful toe touch on Abinesh Nadarajan to revive Ashu and bring the deficit down to two.

It's followed by two lightning-fast bonus points from Mohit Goyat and Ashu Malik that cancel each other out.

Ohh, huge tackle that from Delhi's cover combination! Pankaj Mohite almost slips through Gaurav and Sandeep's grasp, but just as his hand hovers over the mid-line, the support comes in, completing a crucial tackle for Delhi, and bringing the deficit down to just one!

With a little under 90 seconds to play, Pune call for a timeout. We're in for an absolute cliffhanger of a finish!
2nd Half, 37'
Dabang Delhi KC 34 - 37 Puneri Paltan

It's a do-or-die raid immediately post the all-out for Delhi, and they're on a roll here, Ashish Malik coming across with a terrific block to stop Akash Shinde.

In the next raid Ashu Malik almost gets another Super Raid, but Gaurav Khatri's ankle hold just gets enough support from the defense, who stop Ashu right as he's about to make it past the mid-line.
2nd Half, 36'
Dabang Delhi KC 33 - 36 Puneri Paltan

You'd think it's Ashu Malik doing all the heavy lifting for Delhi, but it's the substitute Mohit who has found his groove here, and he picks up another touch point, this time slipping away from Pankaj Mohite's attempted challenge.

Pune review, stating that he steps into the lobby without a touch, but that's a waste, he was well in. Review unsuccessful!

Pune down to three now, but they've been pretty comfortable in Super Tackle situations, but wait a minute says Ashu Malik!!

Ohh that is one of the best raids you'll see this season! Ashu Malik wipes out the Puneri Paltan defense and enforces the all-out in a flash!

Aman races around to surprise Ashu, but he sees it all the way and ducks away from the challenge, rides a second one that comes in from Sanket Sawant, and uses his height to get to the mid-line, also getting the third defender on the way!

Some comeback this from Delhi.
2nd Half, 33'
Dabang Delhi KC 27 - 36 Puneri Paltan

What a good toe touch that is from Akash Shinde. he has ensured that Pune doesn't miss Aslam's raiding, getting his 8th point of the night, sending Vinay to the bench with a lightning-quick bonus point.

But ohh! What a raid that is from Mohit, who goes in for the bonus in between the covers and the right corner, getting Abinesh and Gaurav Khatri in the process.

Yogesh extends Delhi's momentum, putting in another well-timed ankle hold on Akash Shinde as Delhi reduces Pune to four.
2nd Half, 30'
Dabang Delhi KC 24 - 35 Puneri Paltan

Ashu Malik can manage only a bonus point in his next raid, and Mohit Goyat smartly rushes in to prevent a substitution, getting the touch point on Gaurav, reducing them to one.

Ashu is marshalled well by a disciplined Pune defense and he's timed out as the Paltan claim their 2nd all-out of the match, taking their lead to 11. That's a great response after suffering an all-out themselves mere minutes ago!

The second timeout comes around, and it's much-needed for Dabang Delhi. How will they respond to this?
2nd Half, 29'
Dabang Delhi KC 22 - 31 Puneri Paltan

Gaurav Khatri has been top-notch in this 2nd half and he comes around with a great block-knee hold to send Mohit to the bench. Mohit Goyat adds to his tally, executing a neat escape from Yogesh's attempted challenge.

He gets back-to-back points, also scoring in his next raid, this time isolating Sandeep on the left corner and getting the touch, reducing Delhi to just two.
2nd Half, 27'
Dabang Delhi KC 22 - 28 Puneri Paltan

Mohit picks up a useful bonus point before inducing the error from Sanket Sawant which crucially revives Ashu Malik for Delhi.

Akash Shinde, at the other end, negates all the good work Mohit did, picking up a neat bonus point, and also escaping from an easy challenge from Ashish.
2nd Half, 25'
Dabang Delhi KC 20 - 26 Puneri Paltan

The Pune captain Pankaj Mohite gets his first touch point of the night, profiting from an error by Ashish on the left corner. Ohh, great turn from Ashu Malik, who powers past Aman to get to his 9th raid point of the night.

Akash Shinde gets a quick bonus point before Gaurav Khatri puts in a crucial tackle on Ashu. He goes in deep on the right searching for the bonus does Ashu, and while he gets it, Gaurav's timing on the ankle hold is spot-on, with Sanket Sawant providing the necessary support.

That is however a Super 10 for the ever-consistent Ashu Malik!

Pankaj Mohite extends Pune's lead to six points, once again targeting Ashish on the left corner and drawing an error from him.
2nd Half, 23'
Dabang Delhi KC 18 - 22 Puneri Paltan

Well, that's as good a start as you can get if you're Dabang Delhi KC
, with the substitute raider Mohit benefiting from a slip from Abinesh Nadarajan who stumbles past the end-line.

Akash Shinde can't manage a touch point in his raid, and Ashu Malik shows great presence of mind, racing in to prevent a substitution, and Ashu anticipates the ankle hold from Aman, escaping from it with ease.

The Delhi defense just times Akash Shinde out and don't commit to the tackle, and to his credit, Akash goes back to his half, tries to waste some time before surrendering to Ashu Malik, as Delhi get their all-out to start this 2nd half in the best way possible!
Half-Time
Dabang Delhi KC 13 - 21 Puneri Paltan

Not the most perfect of tackles technically from Ashish Malik, but he does enough to stop V Ajith Kumar in a do-or-die raid and reduce the Paltan to two.

However, Aman and Abinesh are too good in the Super Tackle situation! In the final raid of the half, Ashish Narwal has a do-or-die raid, and it's Aman who initiates the challenge with a powerful diving ankle hold, but it's the assist from Abinesh that has really caught the eye throughout this match.

Another Super Tackle to close the half out for the Puneri Paltan, who lead 21-13 at the break, with Aman already having 6 tackle points to his name! Delhi will raid first in the 2nd half, and they'll look to break the Paltan's resistance in the Super Tackle situations and force an all-out to make their way back into this game.
1st Half, 18'
Dabang Delhi KC 12 - 19 Puneri Paltan

It's a big moment for Ashu Malik at the other end as he has a do-or-die raid in a Super Tackle situation, but an advanced tackle from Pankaj Mohite was telegraphed to Ashu, who escapes with ease.

The Paltan are down to two and Mohit Goyat thinks he has the beating of Gaurav Chillar, who manages to dash him off court by a razor-small margin. Just as Delhi think they have a easy all-out, the officials declare that the defender is also out of bounds, giving Pune a lifeline.

And how they take that! Aman and Abinesh Nadarajan were completely on top of Ashu Malik and get the Super Tackle! The Paltan avoid the all-out and retake a 7-point lead.
1st Half, 16'
Dabang Delhi KC 10 - 16 Puneri Paltan

Both teams wait for and play on the do-or-die raid, and it's the Paltan's turn that comes first with captain Pankaj Mohite taking on the responsibility. Despite a nervy first 20 seconds, he manages to get the bonus point for his team after some deliberation from the officials.

Ohh wait, they're reviewing this are Delhi! That's a shocking review from them as replays suggest that it's as clear a bonus as you can get!

And as expected, the review is unsuccessful. That's poor from Delhi.
1st Half, 14'
Dabang Delhi KC 10 - 15 Puneri Paltan

The dubki comes out from Ashu Malik and that is a sight to watch!
He is the epitome of consistency is Ashu Malik and against one of the best defenses in the league, he has been superb so far.

Abinesh and Sanket charging at you is a daunting sight for any raider, but an unfazed Ashu puts in a perfect dubki, making to the mid-line with easy.

The confidence rubs off on the defense, Yogesh's ankle hold well-timed on Akash Shinde, with the support coming in immediately. Ashu continues his hot streak with another touch point, this time bringing out the jump to escape, anticipating the advanced tackle from Gaurav Khatri and getting away from it.

The Paltan are down to three now.
1st Half, 12'
Dabang Delhi KC 6 - 15 Puneri Paltan

Both teams start with empty raids after the timeout before Gaurav Khatri inevitably strikes with his first tackle point of the night, executing a simple ankle hold on an indecisive Vinay.

At the other end, Mohit Goyat finds Gaurav Chillar napping, tagging with an extended right arm, using his stellar pace in the process.

The lead goes up to 9 for the Paltan now!
1st Half, 10'
Dabang Delhi KC 6 - 13 Puneri Paltan

Akash Shinde doing the job in the raiding department for Delhi, forcing Sandeep into an error before removing Ashish Narwal as well.

Ashu Malik goes in search of a touch point with only two on the mat for Delhi and almost manages to get away with a Super Raid, getting mere inches away from crossing the mid-line, but timely support arrives from Abinesh Nadarajan to complete the tackle which the left corner Aman initiated.

It's an easy surrender raid for Mohit Goyat as the Paltan claim the first all-out right on the stroke of the first timeout. They were on the money right from the start and deservedly lead by seven points!
1st Half, 8'
Dabang Delhi KC 6 - 7 Puneri Paltan

With Delhi having four on the mat and the Paltan five and no bonus on offer, both teams opt to play on the do-or-die raid, and in a 1v4 situation, it's a completely unnecessary tackle from Vinay that concedes a freebie to Akash Shinde.

Ashu Malik does well to get a touch on Pankaj Mohite in Delhi's do-or-die raid, bringing Delhi within one point of the Paltan.
1st Half, 6'
Dabang Delhi KC 5 - 6 Puneri Paltan

Pune edge close to an all-out as Sanket Sawant times his dash perfectly to send substitute raider Manu flying off the mat, reducing Delhi to just two.

Staring at an all-out, Yogesh Dahiya comes in clutch with a Super Tackle on Mohit Goyat, receiving great support from Sandeep, bringing them back into this. What that tackle did is bring Ashu Malik back to the mat, and he opens his account with a superb dubki to take Gaurav Khatri out of the game.
1st Half, 4'
Dabang Delhi KC 1 - 5 Puneri Paltan

The Paltan are on the ascendancy here! Ashish is first dashed out once again by Abinesh before Mohit Goyat gets a simple touch on Ashish Malik to reduce Delhi to three on the mat.
1st Half, 2'
Dabang Delhi KC 1 - 3 Puneri Paltan

And he starts brilliantly does Akash Shinde. The left raider gets a terrific toe touch on the right-in Vinay to get his match underway.

At the other end, Abinesh is proactive with his dash to send Ashu Malik to the bench in his first raid. The points are flying in the first couple of minutes as Mohit Goyat is dashed out by Sandeep.

Vinay is then tackled by the Paltan left corner Aman, who starts well in this outing, in comparison to his off-day against the Titans.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's coverage of the 11th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. For the second game of a double-header on this terrific Tuesday, we have a stellar fixture lined up for you as two of the most successful PKL franchises in recent times go head-to-head at the Noida Indoor Stadium.

It's the defending champions Puneri Paltan who take on PKL 8 winners Dabang Delhi KC in what is a crucial game for both teams, albeit for different reasons.

The Paltan faced a bit of an inquest in their last outing, with the Telugu Titans stunning them on the final day of the Hyderabad leg in a thrilling encounter. It was a real off-day for their usually impeccable corner defenders, who failed to pick up a single tackle point, with the substitutes failing to make an impact either. More disappointing for them would be the season-ending knee injury that captain Aslam Inamdar picked up midway through the match, with Pankaj Mohite set to step up and take on captaincy duties.

On the other hand, Dabang Delhi KC is flying high once more after a tough phase at the start of the season, and comes into this match after back-to-back wins over the Bengal Warriorz, and more recently, the Tamil Thalaivas. They beat the Thalaivas 39-26 in a dominating defensive performance, with their corners Yogesh Dahiya and Ashish Malik scoring seven tackle points each! With four wins in nine matches to their name, they'll look to get their fifth in this fixture!

We expect this to be a mouth-watering encounter that should go down to the wire. So sit back and relax as we take you through all that unfolds at Noida.
