Patna Pirates 44 - 30 Dabang Delhi KC

Dabang Delhi KC put in one of the worst defensive performances in PKL 11 and compounded their misery, suffering a hat-trick of defeats, with the third coming at the hands of a much better Patna Pirates outfit.

Ayan and Devank, the two young Patna raiders, both scored Super 10s, with Ayan dominating the first half while Devank did so in the 2nd. But throughout the match, the Delhi defense kept leaking points, with the left corner and cover positions really poor, in particular.

Ashu Malik and Vinay both got Super 10s, but Ashu will regret the team's raiding performance in Super Tackle situations against Patna, as they conceded three Super Tackle points, and they'll wonder what could've been had they converted those opportunities into all-outs.

The Patna defense had a decent outing, ably supporting the raiders, with both corners scoring three tackle points each. They move up to 8th on the points table with that win, also negating the points difference they were hit with in their opening defeat to the Puneri Paltan.

While this one ended a rather one-sided affair, the second match of this Diwali double-header promises to be a cracker of a contest (pun intended). Click here for the complete coverage as Jaipur and U Mumba battle it out as I, Shreyas, bid you adieu. Happy Diwali and Goodnight!
2nd Half, 40'
Patna Pirates 44 - 30 Dabang Delhi KC

A routine raid point for Sandeep Kumar, showcasing great court awareness to get away from Nitin Panwar's attempted challenge. Vinay Virender gets a bonus point, taking him to a Super 10. He can hold his head up high as he brought Delhi back into this match, but the rest of the team hasn't stepped up to support him and Ashu.

The game draws to a close and it's a throughouly deserved win for this new-look Patna Pirates side, who have utterly decimated a listless Dabang Delhi, with their young raiders Devank and Ayan claiming the laurels.
2nd Half, 39'
Patna Pirates 43 - 29 Dabang Delhi KC

The game slows down as both teams put in empty raids and settle for a result that looks more or less a given now.

Ashu Malik has a do-or-die raid against a 5-man Patna defense, and he bides his time before the challenge comes in from Deepak, who he brushed aside to score an easy point. Ohh wait, the decision goes the other way, the point is given to Patna as Ashu steps into the lobby before the touch. Delhi review the decision, but this is clear-cut. It's going to be unsuccessful.

That's so unlucky for Ashu, who has been good for Delhi tonight, scoring 10 raid points, and Vinay has supported him well with 9 raid points. The problem has been the defending, which has had too many holes for anyone to plug.
2nd Half, 36'
Patna Pirates 42 - 29 Dabang Delhi KC

The Delhi defense continue to struggle against Devank and Ayan, but finally, they stop Devank in this 2nd half, Yogesh coming around with a block that's well supported by the rest of the defense!
2nd Half, 34'
Patna Pirates 40 - 27 Dabang Delhi KC

A Super 10 for Ayan now, as he makes it look easy with a running hand touch on the right corner. He gets a tackle point as well at the other end now! A desperate Ashu Malik goes in too deep and pays the price, with Ayan in the left chain bringing him down from his attempted leap.

With Delhi down to two, Ayan corners the two defenders, easily securing the tackle point on Yogesh as in a flash, Delhi suffer a second all-out, and this game has slipped away from them so easily.
2nd Half, 32'
Patna Pirates 34 - 26 Dabang Delhi KC

Vinay Virender begins the final quarter of this match really well for Delhi, getting away from Sandeep Kumar's attempted ankle hold from the right-in position.

Ohh that is a massive moment in this match! What a raid that is from Devank Dalal, who gets to his Super 10 with that attempt! Both the left corner and the in contribute to an ankle hold, getting in each other's way, and as Devank gets to the mid-line, he also gets a touch on Nitin Panwar.
2nd Half, 30'
Patna Pirates 31 - 24 Dabang Delhi KC

The Delhi defense continues to donate points to the Delhi raiders, and it's Ashish Malik who's the culprit yet again. Vinay does well to strike with a back-kick on Shubham Shinde though.

Finally a tackle point after a while for Delhi! Sandeep, deputizing in that left corner, doesn't miss with his ankle hold attempt on Devank.

Ashu reduces Patna to one with a neat escape from Ankit's challenge, and finally, Delhi complete the all-out, with Ashish Malik's block finally working out, as Ayan runs straight into the left chain.

Some momentum goes Delhi's way as the whistle blows for the time-out, but Patna still hold a 7-point lead, courtesy some dogged Super Tackle defending and some super-handy bonus points from Devank. Is the comeback on for Delhi or will Patna hold on to the win?
2nd Half, 28'
Patna Pirates 28 - 18 Dabang Delhi KC

Ohh that's so good from Ashu Malik! He's too sharp with his kick on the left corner Arkam Shaikh, not giving him an opportunity to even attempt an ankle hold. While Devank scores another bonus point, Delhi have a shot at an all-out with Patna down to two.

But lightning does strike twice for the Pirates! Delhi have struggled against Patna in Super Tackle situations and even as Ashu has the Patna defenders cornered on one side, Shubham Shinde steps up, nailing the challenge on Ashu yet again!
2nd Half, 26'
Patna Pirates 25 - 17 Dabang Delhi KC

Sudhakar M, the substitute, delivers in a do-or-die raid situation for them. He bides his time, making the defense restless before Ashish Malik goes in with a needless advanced tackle.

At the other end, Patna have an easy 1v4 situation in a do-or-die raid against Vinay, but the left chain reveal their cards too early, allowing him to run through the defense with an easy point.

Devank then scores a useful bonus point to restore Patna's 8-point lead. This match moving at a good pace.
2nd Half, 24'
Patna Pirates 23 - 16 Dabang Delhi KC

Nitin Panwar is delivering for Delhi in this 2nd half with a pitch-perfect thigh hold on Sandeep Kumar. Patna down to two now and Delhi have a real shot at the all-out!

Ohh, what a Super Tackle that is! Thiyagarajan Yuvaraj latches on to Ashu Malik's knees with a stellar double knee hold and with the help of Shubham Shinde, keeps him down effortlessly. That was such an authoritative challenge!
2nd Half, 22'
Patna Pirates 21 - 15 Dabang Delhi KC

Both teams begin the half with empty raids, but the Delhi defense pounces, Nitin Panwar making no mistake with his diving knee hold on Ayan.

Back-to-back points for Delhi and who else but Ashu Malik? He anticipates the challenge from Ankit in the left corner, picking up an easy raid point.
Half-Time
Patna Pirates 21 - 13 Dabang Delhi KC

A stellar Ayan and some solid defending sees the Patna Pirates comfortably on top in this match. Dabang Delhi have firepower in their raiding department, with Vinay and Ashu Malik having their moments, but some hapless defending has left them chasing this game right from the onset.

Their defenders need to step up if they want to make a comeback in this 2nd half, but knowing Ashu Malik's prowess, you can bet he'll make the Patna Pirates work really hard to retain their lead. A thrilling second half is loading!
1st Half, 20'
Patna Pirates 21 - 13 Dabang Delhi KC

No they can't! Patna's defense is resolute as ever and the ever-dependable Ankit's solid block stops Vinay right in his tracks! Ohh, that's a suicidal tackle attempt from Yogesh.

What was he even thinking there? A tackle attempt so close to the mid-line from the right corner ruins any momentum Delhi had, and as the whistle blows for half-time, Patna are comfortably on top with an 8-point lead.
1st Half, 18'
Patna Pirates 18 - 13 Dabang Delhi KC

Gurdeep hasn't really found his footing at all this season and he concedes a cheap point to Ashu Malik. Delhi get their 2nd tackle point of the night, and it's the right corner this time! Yogesh puts in a solid block to send Devank to the bench.

That's a big moment in this match as Patna are reduced to three again. Can Delhi take this opportunity better than they did last time?
1st Half, 16'
Patna Pirates 18 - 11 Dabang Delhi KC

The points just keep on coming for the Pirates as Ashish Malik, perhaps buoyed by his successful tackle attempt in the previous raid, goes in with an ankle jhold, but his technique lets him down, allowing Sandeep Kumar to escape easily.

Ashu will be glad Vinay Virender is in good touch as the left raider hares across the court and puts out a big left hand to get the running hand touch on Sandeep Kumar.

However, any points they score on a raiding front they concede immediately do Delhi as Devank delivers for the Pirates, getting a bonus+point, evading another unsuccessful attempt from Vinay from the left-in! He really needs to stop doing the work of the defenders and support Ashu.
1st Half, 14'
Patna Pirates 15 - 9 Dabang Delhi KC

Finally a tackle point for Delhi and it's a big one! The left corner comes around to put a solid block on Ayan, who has really been overworked tonight. he's sent to the bench for the first time tonight.

Chance for Delhi to make a comeback with Patna down to three but oh NO! Ashu Malik steps into the lobby, losing his balance, without getting a touch, and it's a Super Tackle for the Pirates.
1st Half, 12'
Patna Pirates 13 - 9 Dabang Delhi KC

Ayan Lohchab is a wonderful talent! He has had the wood over Vikrant throughout this match, and the left cover is hapless against his diving hand touch as Patna bail themselves out of a sticky situation.

Ohh, he's unstoppable is Ayan, this time easily escaping from a surprise advanced tackle from the left-in Vinay. Ashish does well to score a raid point for Delhi, with Deepak Singh going in with an unnecessary mistimed challenge close to the mid-line.
1st Half, 10'
Patna Pirates 11 - 8 Dabang Delhi KC

Ohh, how much Delhi needed that! Vinay Virender strikes with a timely Super Raid, showing great agility and speed to get away from the Pirates defense.

Shubham Shinde initiates the tackle, but he anticipates the challenge, and is already on the way to the mid-line, also getting touches on the left cover and corner in the process.

Ashu Malik scores a point off his very next raid, isolating Devank on the Patna left and getting the kick on him.

Nice mini-comeback from Delhi as the whistle blows for the timeout. Patna down to three now.

However, Delhi has zero tackle points so far and they need to do better defensively if they want to stay in this game.
1st Half, 8'
Patna Pirates 10 - 4 Dabang Delhi KC

Ayan is turning on the heat now. He looks so much at ease against three defenders, and with a great extension of his left arm, nails the running hand touch on Ashish.

Patna is happy to grant Ashu Malik a free bonus point in a do-or-die raid as Delhi only have two on the mat, and on the very next raid, Ayan wades in, leaping over Nitin Panwar's attempted tackle to reduce Delhi to one.

And it doesn't take long for Patna to complete the all-out, as Shubham Shinde comes around to deny a leaping Ashu Malik.

This is a fabulous start for the Pirates!
1st Half, 6'
Patna Pirates 5 - 2 Dabang Delhi KC

Ayan has started this match really well, and wins his one-on-one duel with the right corner Yogesh really well to secure his 2nd raid point of the match. He follows it up with a good pivot and turn away from Vikrant's attempted challenge close to the mid-line.

Delhi down to three now as Ashu is subbed off for a defender Rinku Narwal.
1st Half, 4'
Patna Pirates 3 - 2 Dabang Delhi KC

Patna get the first tackle point of the match, and it's Ankit who comes up with a solid block from that left corner to send Vinay back to the bench.

Patna add another to their tally as Sandeep Kumar escapes easily after drawing the left corner Ashish into making an ankle hold.

However, Ashu Malik strikes back, escaping from Deepak Singh's attempted dash. Neat start to the match this.
1st Half, 2'
Patna Pirates 1 - 1 Dabang Delhi KC

Both teams are content to start with empty raids, and it takes the 4th raid of the match for us to get the first point of the match. It's Ayan who strikes with a diving hand touch on a clueless Vikrant in the Delhi right cover.

Ashu Malik has a do-or-die raid which he negotiates really well, confidently settling for a bonus point.
We're not far away from live action here. Both teams have made their way onto the mat.

Toss Update: The Patna Pirates win the toss and choose court.

Here are the starting lineups of both teams going into this match:

Patna Pirates: Shubham Shinde (C), Deepak Singh, Gurdeep, Ankit, Sandeep Kumar, Ayan, and Devank.

Dabang Delhi KC: Ashu Malik (C), Ashish Malik, Yogesh Dahiya, Vinay Virender, Nitin Panwar, Vikrant, and Ashish.

Well, Patna name an unchanged starting 7 for this one, suggesting that they strongly believe that this is their best starting 7, as they aim for stability throughout this season.

In stark contrast, Delhi have made wholesale changes to the team that started against the Bulls, with Yogesh Dahiya, Ashish Malik, and Vikrant all returning to the starting lineup.
Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's coverage of the eleventh edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. We have for you a blockbuster double-header lined up on the occasion of Diwali on Thursday, October 31, and to start things off this evening, we have a rematch of the Final of PKL 8, which ended in a nail-biting thriller.

It's the Dabang Delhi KC who take on the Patna Pirates at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad as both teams look for a win to regain some momentum in their respective campaigns.

The Pirates have started this season on a scratchy note, losing two out of three matches, with the most recent being a close 26-28 defeat to the Telugu Titans, a game they'll feel they should have won. Their raiding unit is still developing, and it'll be interesting to see if the likes of Sudhakar M, Jang Kun Lee, and Meetu Mahender get a look-in in this match.

Delhi heavily altered their starting 7 ahead of their painful 33-34 defeat at the hands of the Bengaluru Bulls, and it remains to be seen if they'll recall the players they benched back to the starting lineup ahead of their clash with the Pirates. With two wins in five matches for them so far, a win here will go a long way in reviving their campaign, which has been hurt by an injury to co-captain Naveen Kumar.

As an exciting Delhi raiding unit helmed by Ashu Malik takes on an experienced Patna defense, this promises to be a thrilling encounter. So sit back and relax as we take you through all that unfolds here in Hyderabad.
