Winning a Super Bowl is every NFL player's dream come true. But what about the coaches, and especially the head coach of an NFL franchise? Holding that Lombardi Trophy in the hands must be as captivating for a head coach as it is for the players. After all, being the head coach of a professional football team and that too in the NFL is a big deal.

While most players and coaches don’t get the opportunity to live this dream despite being in the league for several years, Andy Reid on the other hand has made the trip to the Super Bowl on five different occasions as a head coach, while coming out victorious on three of them. He has also tasted Lombardi success while he was serving as an assistant coach in Green Bay. Let us now take a brief look into Andy Reid’s Super Bowl victories over the years.

Andy Reid Super Bowl Wins

Andy Reid has won 4 Super Bowl titles, three as the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs and one as an assistant coach for the Green Bay Packers, as of September 2024. Reid first tasted success as a Super Bowl Champion when he was an offensive assistant for the Green Bay Packers back in Super Bowl XXXI when the iconic Brett Favre led the Packers to a victory over the New England Patriots. While Reid was not one of those in the limelight at that time as the head coach was Mike Holmgren, he nevertheless gained valuable experience of what it takes to win a Championship at the highest level of the sport.

Following a brief period of various coaching roles including the quarterbacks coach, Reid made his first attempt at being a head coach when the Philadelphia Eagles presented him with the opportunity in 1999. His 14-year career in Philadelphia saw him reach the Super Bowl once but this time the Patriots got the better of his side in Super Bowl XXXIX.

Reid would finally achieve his long-time dream of lifting the Lombardi Trophy as a head coach not once but twice now with the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV and Super Bowl LVII. Even with the Chiefs, it took Reid a long time to get over the hump but now as a two-time champion, he will for sure leave behind a great legacy once his career comes to an end.

His fourth and latest Super Bowl win came at the Super Bowl LVIII where the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, with a score of 25-22.

Super Bowl LIV

Super Bowl LIV pitted the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers in Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida. The first half was a closely fought affair with the Chiefs leading 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. By halftime though both teams trotted to their locker rooms with the game tied at 10-10.

The 49ers then came out in the second half all guns blazing and quickly put up 10 more points to go up 20-10 after the third quarter. After falling behind by ten points and nothing going right for the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes called the now famous ‘Jet Chip Wasp’ play on third and fifteen completing the iconic pass to Tyreek Hill for a gain of 44 yards. Somehow this play got the Chiefs back in the game as they went on to score 21 unanswered points on their way to a 31-20 victory. This gave Andy Reid his first-ever ring as a head coach.

Super Bowl LVII

This Super Bowl which took place on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona, gave Reid his second ring as a head coach and third overall. This time Chiefs squared off against Reid’s former team, the Philadelphia Eagles. In the first quarter, both teams had put up a touchdown each but the second quarter belonged to the Eagles as they took a commanding 24-14 lead at the half.

Once again as the Chiefs have done many times in the recent postseason games, they came from behind and executed perfectly in the second half. The Chiefs outscored the Eagles 7-3 in the third quarter and then 17-8 in the fourth quarter to eventually win the game with a score of 38-35. By the end of the game, the Chiefs offensive line had done a commendable job as they did not allow any sacks for the entire game while the Eagles led all teams in the NFL with 70 sacks over the year.

Super Bowl LVIII

The latest Super Bowl which took place on February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium, Paradise, Nevada gave Andy his third Lombardi Trophy as head coach in last five years. Andy Reid's squad once again faced familiar foe in San Francisco 49ers at the biggest stage after getting better of them in SB LIV. The back and forth battle between two teams went into overtime, where once again Mahomes-Reid magic triumphed.
