Carson James Wentz is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs as of the 2025 NFL season. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Wentz with the second overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Wentz recorded 4,039 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in the 2019 season, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for more than 4,000 yards with no wide receiver catching at least over 500 yards. Moreover, his 4,039 yards were also the most in Eagles franchise history. In 2021 he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts. After one season with the Colts, he was traded to the Washington Commanders in 2022, and in 2023, he played for the Los Angeles Rams as a backup to Matthew Stafford before joining the Chiefs for the 2024 NFL season.

He attended college at North Dakota State University and won five NCAA FCS National Championships playing for the college football team. According to NDSU's official website, he ranked third in North Dakota State University history with 612 career passing attempts, 392 completions, 5,115 yards, 45 touchdowns, and fifth with 6,143 yards of total offense. Before committing to NDSU, he played high school football at Century High School in Bismarck as a quarterback and defensive back.
