Born April 8, 1999, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Lamb attended Opelousas Catholic High School where he was voted the No. 1 wide receiver in the country by 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. Lamb went on to play for the University of Oklahoma where he had a stellar football career, being named the the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2017 and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. Drafted by the Cowboys with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he already has three 1,000-yard seasons under his belt in the first four years in the league. Lamb had a breakout year in 2023 when he went on to finish with 1,749 receiving yards along with scoring 12 touchdowns (both career-highs). CeeDee Lamb attended the University of Oklahoma where he represented the Sooners from 2017 to 2019. Lamb received All-American honors from ESPN in his freshman year. In a game against Texas Tech, he set a freshman single-game record with nine receptions for 147 yards. As a sophomore in 2018, he established a career-high with 167 receiving yards on six receptions and scored one touchdown in the Big 12 Championship. Lamb also recorded a career-high eight receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the 2018 Orange Bowl against the table toppers Alabama Crimson Tide. In both his first two years, Lamb's starting quarterback would go on to win the Heisman Trophy.
Lamb was named a first-team All-American in his junior year in 2019. He caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and had 14 touchdowns for the season. His 21.4 yards average per reception, was the highest ever in a single season by an OU player with at least 50 receptions. His brilliance on the field also won him the Most Outstanding Player of the Big 12 Championship.
