Myles Garrett is an American football defensive end for the Cleveland Browns as of 2024. The former 1st overall pick out of the 2017 NFL draft has played 7 seasons in the league as of 2024. The 6 ft 4 defensive end, who attended Martin High School in Arlington, Texas for his secondary education, was the recipient of the Landry Award, an honor given to the top high school player from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Since entering the NFL in 2017, the former 5-star recruit has been as advertised. The 2023 Defensive Player of the Year honoree is the only NFL player with at least 10 sacks in each of the past six seasons as of September 2024 (via Myles Garrett's player page on Cleveland Browns official website). He has been named to First-team All-Pro 3 times and Second-team All-Pro twice in his first seven seasons. He was ranked No.1 by various executives, scouts, and coaches in the top 10 edge rushers survey done by ESPN in July 2024. His amazing play has earned him the respect among his peers as he has been voted in the NFL Top 100 every year since entering the NFL.

Myles Garrett College

Myles Garrett enrolled at the Texas A&M University in October 2013. Before entering the university, he was the second most wanted prospect in America. He pursued his education at Texas A&M University until 2016. Right from his freshman year, he was breaking records as he surpassed Jadeveon Clowney's SEC freshman sack record by registering more than eight sacks in his first 9 games. Garrett majored in architecture and minored in geology at Texas A&M (via Myles Garrett's player page on the Cleveland Browns official website).

In his sophomore year, he received first-team All-American honors from both the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Football Writers Association of America. He topped the SEC with 12.5 sacks. In addition to this achievement, he registered 57 total tackles (36 solo), 19.5 tackles for loss and five forced fumbles.

Unfortunately for him, he got injured in his junior year which saw his availability limited to third downs only in some games. He sustained a high-ankle sprain in the fourth game of the season which affected his left leg. Although it ended up being a less eventful year, Garrett still achieved the status of a Unanimous Consensus All-American. The Browns defensive end concluded his collegiate career after racking up 145 total tackles, 48.5 tackles for loss, 32.5 sacks, 1 interception, and 7 forced fumbles.
