The rising star of the NFL, Myles Garrett has garnered quite a lot of attention. He was the first pick overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. Born on December 29, 1995, in Arlington, Texas. He plays as a Defensive end (DE) for his team the Cleveland Browns.

The 27-year-old star hails from a family of athletes. Sean Williams, his half-brother, used to play basketball for his college team. Williams went professional and played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was an active player from 2007 to 2012. Brea, Garrett’s older sister, was a track and field athlete. She is the title holder for the 2014 NCAA 20-pound weight throw.

Garrett played football, basketball and ran track team in high school. He was on the high school team for all three sports. He received the Landry Award in 2013, an honor presented to the most outstanding high school player in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. He got signed by the Cleveland Browns in 2017. His contract was worth an amazing $30.41 million with a jaw-dropping $20.25 million signing bonus. The duration for this contract was four years with the fifth year being a team option.

Myles Garrett College

Myles Garrett enrolled at the Texas A&M University in October 2013. Before entering the university, he was the second most wanted prospect in America. He pursued his education at Texas A&M University until 2016, following which he opted to declare for the 2017 NFL draft.

Right from his freshman year, it was evident that Garrett was destined for something great. He was breaking records in the first nine games he played for his college team. He surpassed Jadeveon Clowney's SEC freshman sack record by registering more than eight sacks.

In his sophomore year, he received first-team All-American honors from both the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Football Writers Association of America. He topped the SEC with 12.5 sacks. In addition to this achievement, he registered 57 total tackles (36 solo), 19.5 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, and even blocked a punt, notably against Alabama.

Unfortunately for him, he got injured in his junior year. He sustained a high-ankle sprain in the fourth game of the season which affected his left leg. Although it ended up being a less eventful year, Garrett still achieved the status of a Unanimous Consensus All-American by receiving unanimous first-team votes. The Brown’s defensive end appeared for the NFL drafts in 2017. He was chosen by the Cleveland Browns as the first pick overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.
