Based in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Eagles are a professional American football club that plays in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the NFC East division. The South Philadelphia Sports Complex's Lincoln Financial Field serves as the team's home field. The franchise was founded in 1933 to replace the Frankford Yellow Jackets, who had gone bankrupt after a company headed by Bert Bell acquired the rights to an NFL team in Philadelphia. The Eagles have won 15 division titles, including 12 in the NFC East, made it to the playoffs 30 times since their founding, participated in four pre-merger NFL Championship Games and won three of them (1948, 1949, and 1960), and made it to four Super Bowls, including Super Bowl LII at the end of the 2017 season.
