Tony Pollard’s Contract
This season, in 2023, Pollard is set to earn $10.091 million. This season may very well be his last as a Dallas Cowboys player. This is because Pollard and the Cowboys failed to reach an agreement on a long-term deal before the July 17, 2023 deadline. Dallas can however sign him back when the off-season arrives.
Pollard's contract ends on March 8, 2024. As an unrestricted free agent, he may join with any club he wants to and the list of the teams that want to acquire Pollard is endless. Hey may be a great fit for teams like the Miami Dolphins, NY Jets, (reigning champs) Kansas City Chiefs, and the Philadelphia Eagles. These teams that were mentioned have the money and the right assets to trade for Pollard.
Pollard may get a long-term Cowboys deal but at the same time, Pollard may also be focused on making some noise this season after losing to the 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs last year. The Cowboys need to re-sign Tony Pollard alongside many others like Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs, and Micah Parsons to long-term contracts in order to win a championship. Dallas has all the talent in the world and being America’s team, anything short of a championship is considered a failure.
Unless Pollard signs a long-term deal with the Cowboys, he will be a hot free agent in 2024. A youthful and skilled running back like Pollard may in fact land a massive deal.
