Akira Tozawa is a Japanese professional wrestler signed with WWE. He is best known for his work with Dragon Gate and WWE. He is a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and the current WWE 24/7 Champion in his 14th reign.
Professional Wrestling Career
Dragon Gate (2005-2016)
In 2005, Tozawa began wrestling at Dragon Gate. Tozawa had a tenure of twelve years with Dragon Gate before joining WWE. He had a massive transformation during his last days with the company. Tozawa also exclusively wrestled for PWG and won several championships along the way.
WWE (2016-Present)
In 2016, Tozawa entered the CWC tournament and was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Gran Metalik. After the tournament, he joined the 205 Live division and wrestled for two years. On RAW, he joined Titus Worldwide and won the Cruiserweight Championship from Neville. During 205 division's move to NXT, Tozawa was moved to NXT. In 2019, they moved Tozawa to the 24/7 division. Tozawa has won the 24/7 championship frequently. He was last seen on RAW in a match against Dana Brooke and Reggie.
