Personal Life
Tom Budgen aka Aleister Black was born on 19 May 1985, in Alkmaar, Netherlands. Budgen grew up in a very poor family in Amsterdam. He attended Davenport High School. Tom had an unconventional childhood due to his father being born into a very heavy, almost cult-like, religion. He credits his occult personas to be influenced a lot by his father’s personality.
Professional Wrestling career
Independent circuit
Budgen started his wrestling career in the year 2002 in the independent circuit in UK and Europe under the ring name ‘Tommy End’, where he worked for promotions like Insane Championship Wrestling, Progress Wrestling, Westside Xtreme Wrestling.
During the course of a 14 year-long independent circuit career, Budgen earned the accolades like wXw Unified World Heavyweight Champion, wXw World Light Heavyweight Champion, wXw World Tag Team Champion, ICW Tag Team Champion, Progress Tag Team Champion.

In June 2016, he signed for the NXT version of WWE. His entry promos portrayed him as a real badass, saying that he has come to NXT to ’burn’ it down.
Aleister Black made his in-ring debut against Andrade Cien Almas at the NXT Takeover: Orlando and defeated Almas in the match. Aleister Black had a heated rivalry against Hideo Itami and they two fought at the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. Aleister defeated Itami. After that Black had a feud with Velveteen. Aleister Black was constantly harassed by Velveteen to say his name. This provoked Black and led to a match with Dream at the NXT Takeover: Wargames in which Black won. Black was swift and sharp he made it to the fatal four-way match to determine the number one contender for the NXT Championship. At the NXT Takeover: Philadelphia Adam Cole was defeated by Aleister Black in an Extreme Rules match.
Aleister Black defeated Killian Dain in a match that decided the No.1 contender for the NXT Championship. Later on, he faced Andrade in a match for the title at the NXT Takeover: New Orleans. Then at the NXT Takeover: Chicago II Black successfully defended his title against Lars Sullivan. On July 25, Black lost the title to Tommaso Ciampa due to outside interference from Gargano. Thus ending his reign at 108 days. Aleister Black had a feud with Gargano to revenge for the title loss. At an episode of NXT Black hit Gargano with a "Black Mass." his finishing move. Soon Black had a match against Ciampa and Gargano in a Triple Threat match at the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4. But Aleister Black was unable to compete due to an injury after an attack launched by an unknown assailant. Due to this, he was out of action for months. Black returned on the October 17 episode of NXT during a match against Belair and Nikki Cross stating that Gargano was the one who attacked him. This led to a match between the two at the NXT Takeover: Wargames in which Aleister was victorious. In January 2019, Black failed to win the title against Tommaso Ciampa in a match at the NXT Takeover: Phoenix pay-per-view. Then Black had a tag team match at the NXT Takeover: Newyork against The War Raiders for the Tag team Championship alongside Ricochet. But was unsuccessful.
Aleister Black WWE run
In 2019, Aleister Black appeared on the Royal Rumble 2019 as the 21 entrant but was eliminated by Baron Corbin. Later, Black made his debut on RAW defeating Elias. Quickly he partnered with his old tag team partner Ricochet for the RAW Tag Team Championship against The Revival and the team of Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. But lost the match. They also went on to compete for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Wrestlemania 35 but failed to grab the gold. After being drafted to SmackDown Black faced off Cesar at the Extreme Rules marking his first one-on-one victory against Cesaro in a singles match.

Black started to have a feud with Buddy Murphy and at the TLC pay-per-view he defeated Murphy. Aleister Black entered the Royal Rumble 2020, but was eliminated by Seth Rollins. Aleister Black was then involved in a storyline with O.C faction. The following week he faced the members of O.C on RAW but was defeated by AJ Styles in a match marking his first pinfall loss. Black then retailiated for the loss against AJ Styles at the Elimination Chamber 2020. Aleister Black also defeated Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 36 after a distraction from Lana.
Black was meddled into a ongoing feud between Rey Mysterio and Rollins. Where Buddy Murphy attacked Black into the steel steps causing an injury to his eye. Black had a match against Seth Rollins at the July 20, episode but lost the match. On August 24, Black appeared with an eye bandage and attacked Kevin Owens starting an feud with him. Also he performed Black Mass before a match with Orton on RAW making Owens to lose the match. On September 14, he had a match against Owens and lost the match. Following the match he lost on another occasion to Owens in a No Disqualification match. Later he was drafted to SmackDown and he had a brief hiatus. On May 21, he returned and attacked Big E in a Intercontinental Match against Apollo Crews thus making Crews pickup the win. Aleister Black was planned to involve in a feud with Big E but it never panned out. On June 2, 2021, he was released from WWE.
All Elite Wrestling (2021-present)
On July 2021, Black debuted in AEW in the name of Malakai Black. He returned and attacked Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes. Black then started to have a feud with Rhodes. He defaeted Rhodes on the homecoming episode of AEW Dynamite on August 4. Later on he attacked Rhodes and established himself as a heel persona. On September 22, Black defeated Rhodes in a rematch at Grand slam. On November 11, at the Full Gear pay-per-view Black and Andrade was defeated by the team of Rhodes and Pac.
At the All Out event, House of Black lost to Darby Allin, Sting and Miro in a fast-paced match.
