Andy Wang MMA

Andy Wang made his professional MMA debut in 2000 at SuperBrawl 16 against Bob Ostovich. Wang won the fight via split decision but then lost his next 2 fights against Jay Martinez and Akihiro Gono. Andy bounced back from the losses by defeating Jay R. Palmer in his next fight at Warrior Quest via rear-naked choke submission.

The momentum from Wang's career went south again as he went 1-4 in his next 5 fights. He then defeated Jamal Perkins via unanimous decision at Extreme Wars 3 to get his momentum back. After this win, he entered the fifth season of the Ultimate Fighter.

Wang was a Team Penn member in The Ultimate Fighter and had a disappointing run on the show as he was knocked out in the first round. He was then kicked by BJ Penn from his team. Wang fought at The Ultimate Fighter 5 finale, where he lost to Cole Miller via first-round TKO (Head Kick and Punches).

Following this, Wang returned to the regional circuit and went on a 2-fight win streak at Gladiator Challenger where he won both the fights via first-round TKO(punches).

Wang went on to draw his next fight against Atsuhiro Tsuboi, have a no-contest against Eddie Rincon due to an accidental eye-poke, and lost to Zorobabel Moreira at the One FC Champion vs. Champion. He stopped competing after the Zorobabel loss and went to China where he started refereeing some fights and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

He returned to fighting, 6-years later in 2017 for the one-night Rebel FC 5- Quest For Glory Tournament. Wang won his fight against Makoto Maeda via unanimous decision but lost in the main event against Adriano Balby. He retired from the sport after this fight.

Andy Wang currently owns an MMA gym in Bend, Ore.

Andy Wang The Ultimate Fighter 5

Andy Wang was the 6th pick of Team Penn in the Ultimate Fighter 5. Andy's season was disappointing as he lost the opening round fight to Brandom Melendez via unanimous decision. BJ Penn mocked Wang after his loss, due to Wang's refusal to use his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience to take Melendez to the ground.

Later in the show, Penn removed Wang from his team citing Wang's insubordination and refusal to take advice from the coaching advice as the main reason for this. Wang then joined Team Pulvar on the show and fought in the Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale against Cole Miller. Andy lost the fight in the first round via TKO (head kick to punches).
