Ashley Jackson: A Brief Biography
Ashley Jackson is an English field hockey player who was a member of the British squad that competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and appeared again in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He plays as both midfielder and striker and has taken a number of penalty corners for the team. He made his debut in the English senior side in 2007 at the age of 19. Having played for HGC in the Dutch league for a number of years, he now plays for East Grinstead Hockey Club in England. In 2009, he helped England win their first ever gold medal at the European Championships and was crowned Player of the Tournament. He was the first English player to be adjudged as the winner of the FIH Young Player of the year award.
