Martin Wright is an American retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his work as The Boogeyman in WWE.
Professional Wrestling Career
WWE (2004-Present)
In 2004, Wright signed with the company after working with Tough Enough. In 2005, he began training at OVW, where he created the character Boogeyman. In October, The Boogeyman started appearing on SmackDown. In December, The Boogeyman made his in-ring debut.
After defeating JBL at Royal Rumble, The Boogeyman began feuding with Booker T. At WrestleMania XXII, The Boogeyman defeated Booker T. The Boogeyman induced fear into his opponents by using scary tactics and mind games before and during the matches. During his time on SmackDown, he defeated several notable superstars before moving to RAW. In 2007, The Boogeyman was drafted to ECW. He faced several stars, such as Matt Striker, Big Daddy V, John Morrison, The Miz, and Kane, before departing from the brand.
In 2009, they released Wright from his contract. After his retirement, The Boogeyman was used by WWE as a special attraction on major editions of RAW and SmackDown and major shows such as WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble. In 2021, The Boogeyman held the 24/7 Championship.
