Daniela Hantuchova: A Brief Biography
Daniela Hantuchová is a professional Slovak tennis player. As of 14 January 2013, Hantuchová is ranked world number 44 in singles. She turned professional in 1999 and had her breakthrough year in 2002, when she won her first Tier I tournament and ended the year in the top 10. antuchová started the year as the world no. 38, being known as a new up-and-coming player, in the Gold Coast. In 2003, Hantuchová reached her first semifinal of the year at her fourth event in Antwerp, losing to Williams again. Defending a title for the first time in her career, Hantuchová advanced to the fourth round in Indian Wells, losing to Amanda Coetzer.
In 2007, Hantuchová won her third career title at the Tier II Generali Ladies Linz. Hantuchová then won her first title in more than three years by defeating Sara Errani in 2011 at the PTT Pattaya Open. Partnering Agnieszka Radwańska, she reached the semifinals in Indian Wells, falling to the eventual champions, but won the doubles title in Miami, defeating Nadia Petrova and Liezel Huber. At 2012 Pattaya, she successfully defended her title by defeating No. 4 seed Maria Kirilenko.
