Joey Logano was barely 19 when he first visited the top step of the podium in a NASCAR race. He is the youngest race winner in the Cup Series. Joey Logano was born and brought up in Connecticut and he started his career as a 6-year-old racer in the Quarter Midget Series. He was already winning championships by the next year and his first victory came in the form of the Grand National Championship in the Junior Stock Car Division in 1997. Logano was highly acclaimed as a driver in his youth. He was applauded by Randy LaJoie and he coined the nickname, “sliced bread” for Logano calling him the greatest thing ever. Logano was allowed to compete in the Grand National Division of NASCAR in 2007, due to a change of rules, permitting drivers aged 16 and above to compete in the class.
