Kevin Kisner’s Early Life and Background

American golfer Kevin James Kisner, better known as Kevin Kisner, was born in Aiken, South Carolina, on February 15, 1984, to Steve Kisner and Christy Kisner. He completed his schooling at South Aiken High School and later attended the University of Georgia. During his early age, Kisner was a very hardworking and talented golfer, leading the foundation for his better career. Besides playing golf, he also enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Kevin Kisner had a successful amateur career in golf. While attending the University of Georgia, he became a member of the NCAA Division I Championship team and competed in several golf tournaments. Chris Kirk, Brendon Todd and Richard Scott were also in this team along with him. At this time, he gained several accomplishments, including:

  • Being a two-time All-American at the University of Georgia.

  • Winning the Georgia State Amateur Championship twice (2004 and 2005).

  • Representing the U.S. in the 2005 Walker Cup and 2006 Palmer Cup.

After turning pro in 2006, Kevin competed in several mini tours like NGA Hooters and Tarheel Tour, and in 2011 he got his first PGA Tour card. Currently, Kisner plays on the PGA Tour but is also a former golfer on the European Tour and Web.com Tour. He won 10 tournaments in his professional career, including a total of four PGA Tour wins. He reached his peak with 14th rank in the Official World Golf Ranking as of January 17, 2016.

During this time, Kisner was All-American twice at the University of Georgia and also won the Northeast Amateur (2005) and Porter Cup in (2005).

In the 2005 Walker Cup and 2006 Palmer Cup, Kevin represented the United States of America. After turning pro in 2006, Kevin competed in several mini tours like NGA Hooters and Tarheel Tour and in 2011, where he won thrice. Then he played on the Nationwide Tour and won at Mylan Classic in 2010. In 2011, he finished 11th on the money list, which helped him to earn his first PGA Tour card. But he failed to retain his card, finishing 181st position on the money list and again failed to retain this for finishing 167th on the money list in 2012.

Kevin started playing on the Web.com Tour and won at Chile Classic in 2013. He finished runner-up three times during the 2015 PGA Tour. He won at RSM Classic in November 2015 by six strokes over Kevin Chappell, which was his first victory on the PGA Tour. He secured his second victory at Dean & DeLuca Invitational in 2017. He also won one World Golf Championship at WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play on March 31, 2019. Besides this, he also won 1 European Tour, 1 NGA - Hooters Tour and 2 Tarheel Tour. In 2022, he participated in the President’s Cup (2022) and represented the U.S.
