Amy Christine Dumas is an American professional wrestler signed with WWE. She is best known for her work with WWE as Lita and a WWE Hall of Famer. She is a former WWE Women's Champion.

Early Life

Amy Christine Dumas or famously known as Lita was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she was born on April 14, 1975. She attended various schools throughout Florida during her childhood and adolescence, eventually graduating from Lassiter High School in Atlanta, Georgia six months before the rest of her class.

After leaving college, Dumas moved to Washington, D.C. where she pursued her passion for music by playing bass guitar in several bands. She also worked as a roadie for a band, further developing her skills and knowledge of the music industry.

Professional Wrestling Career

Early Years (1997-1999)

In 1997, she began her wrestling career after being inspired by Rey Mysterio. She was trained at EMLL. After she finished her training, she returned and began working at an independent circuit. In 1999, she began working for ECW. In August, she made her last appearance for the company.

WWE/F (1999-Present)

Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression (1999-2007)

Before making her main roster debut, she appeared on RAW with Godfather as a member of the Ho-Train. In 2000, she debuted on Heat. After a while, she joined Team Xtreme. Lita was an integral part of the group as she appeared on several high-profile matches and took serious bumps. She was also involved in major storylines apart from Team Xtreme. In August, she main evented RAW alongside Stephanie McMahon and defeated her to win the WWF Women's Championship.

She also won the WWF Hardcore Championship and challenged Dean Malenko for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. She spent the remaining year feuding with Malenko. During the Invasion storyline, she joined forces with Trish Stratus to face Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler. She was involved in a storyline with The Hardy Boyz, where she sided with Matt Hardy. In 2002, she was sidelined due to a serious neck injury.

In 2003, she made her in-ring return and saved Trish Stratus. After her return, she reunited with Hardy and was involved in a love triangle between Hardy and Christian. In 2004, Lita reunited with Matt Hardy and began feuding with Kane. Lita was involved in a huge storyline with Kane and Hardy, which went on for months. During the storyline, Lita became pregnant with Kane's child and later had a miscarriage due to Snitsky.

After the pregnancy storyline, she began feuding with Trish Stratus. She main evented RAW where she defeated Stratus to win her second WWE Women's Championship. At New Year's Revolution, Lita was injured mid-match and Stratus reclaimed the title. In 2005, she returned and attacked Kane. She turned heel and began working with Edge.

In 2005, she was involved in areal life controversy as she was dating Matt Hardy and began an affair with Edge outside the ring. The controversy was used to fuel the storyline between Edge and Hardy, where Edge won the feud, and Hardy was fired from RAW and moved to SmackDown. Lita began assisting Edge during his matches. In 2006, she was part of a live sex celebration for Edge's championship win. In August, she won her third WWE Women's Championship from Mickie James.

At Unforgiven, she lost the title to Stratus in her retirement match. At Cyber Sunday, she defeated James to win her fourth WWE Women's Championship. The two faced each other for weeks and exchanged victories. At Survivor Series, she lost the title to James and retired from wrestling. She made several appearances after her retirement for segments.

Post Retirement (2010-Present)

In 2014, they announced her to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. In 2015, she became a trainer for Tough Enough. At WrestleMania 32, she appeared at the event to unveil the new WWE Women's Championship. In 2017, she became a commentator for the Mae Young Classic. In 2018, she entered the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble match.

In 2018, she teamed up with Trish Stratus and faced Mickie James and Alicia Fox at Evolution. On RAW, she teamed up with Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Trish Stratus. In 2022, she returned to SmackDown and delivered a Twist of Fate on Charlotte. She entered the Royal Rumble match but failed to win. At Elimination Chamber, she faced Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship and lost.

Lita returned to WWE on the February 6th episode of WWE RAW during a Steel Cage Match between Becky Lynch and Bayley where she helped the former overcome the number advantage held by Bayley due to her Damage CTRL allies. Three weeks later, Lita and Lynch teamed up to take on Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

The duo would go on to win the match with a little assist from the returning Trish Stratus. This marked Lita's first title reign in WWE since 2006. Next week, Lita, Lynch and Stratus laid down the challenge to Damage CTRL for a six-women WrestleMania tag team match. The challenge was accepted and the two trios are all set to collide at the Night One of WrestleMania Hollywood. Though it may sound surprising, but this would only be the second time that Lita would be competing in the event.
